Is there any real surprise to find the Brentwood / Crestview neighborhood on this list?!
Austin Culture Map published an article in early June outlining their top 9 neighborhoods buyers should have on their radar. They lived up to Keeping Austin Weird by only doing a top 9 vs 10. Had they rounded up to an even 10, I'd might have suggested the likes of:
Northwest Hills (West side of MOPAC off Far West Blvd offers great schools and larger lots), Mesa Park (S of Duval Rd between 183 & MOPAC offers wonderful location by The Domain, a trail / park in the center of the neighborhood) or Balcones/Spicewood (my old stomping grounds growing up off Anderson Mill Rd with exlempary schools and more affordable options by heading North a few more miles).
The article points out the great neighborhood schools and quirky shops / restaurants (mainly lining the booming Burnet Rd District) for making the list. When I first moved into the area back in 2002 it required a explaining on where Crestview was located. These days people know the exact location, and often mention something they love about the area.
And what an honor, the quick video Austin Culture Map made about several of their top picks used photos of my listings in Brentwood and East Austin from the last 12 months! If you'd like more information about living in the 78757 zip code (Brentwood / Crestview), then check out my new website dedicated to the two neighborhoods at www.johndunham.com!
