IF YOU CAN'T SLEEP GET UP AND SMILE
2:00 a.m. and I can't sleep. I woke up thirsty and discovered that my water filter inside my refrigerator needs to be replaced. Naturally, I didn't have A spare. I checked the labels of the water bottles inside my refrigerator; however, none of them met my criteria! I read that the best method of ensuring a safe water supply is to install a home water distillation system. It's funny how anytime a doctor performs surgery I start doing my own research and pay better attention to my body. Research says, "Distilled water is the only pure water; there is only one process that can make 100% distilled water and that is steam distillation." I'm convinced, I don't want any THM's (trihalomethanes), carcinogens, fluoride, pesticides and other snythetic or organic chemicals inside my body! Could it be that Dr. Carrel was whispering in my ear last night?
Or could it be that Dr. Alexis Carrel, Nobel Prize Winner, scientist at the Rockefeller Institute was sending me messages from the dead? After all, he was born in 1873 and from my research pure water is necessary for good health.
SMILE IN THE AISLE
WinCo Foods is the new business in town. It's just up the road and open 24 hours. I couldn't sleep and I wanted my water! I didn't even care what I looked like or how I was dressed. So what that I didn't apply make-up, curl my hair or that I slipped into a purple pair of pants, an orange and white striped top and pink flip flops - I was on a mission for steam distilled water! I have to confess, the slits of my eyes were barely open and all I was greeted by were SMILES! It was then that I realized those employees stocking up the shelves weren't smiling at me because I was a pretty sight! There were old men, young boys barely over 18, and those guys with muscles aged somewhere in between. That's when I started to pay attention!
WinCo Foods is an Employee owned Company! Those guys weren't smiling at me because of what I looked like, they were smiling at me because I was paying them their salary and they have a vested interest in me personally! The more I put into my cart, the more smiles I got! Did you know there are 100 stores in Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and now Texas. Plus, I found out that they are opening up a few more stores in the Metroplex. Business is good and as an employee owned company, they all share in the success of this Company, not just the local business in town! So if the store in Nevada is doing great; the employees at my local store are too! Employees have to put in about 1,000 hours before they qualify but they are an employee owned company. I was impressed; but not nearly as impressed until I walked down one aisle and some grumpy employee whom I'm sure I looked like ON CAMERA when I walked into the store didn't smile at me. I could feel his panting whizz past my face until someone on the LOUD SPEAKER said, SMILE IN THE AISLE I just had to laugh out loud!
SHOP & COMPARE!
Sleepless in Flower Mound wasn't tired and she was up for conducting more research! Across town was the local Big Boy store. I'm not mentioning names but the name also begins with the letter "W." Not one person smiled at me and I didn't even care that I was wearing purple pants, an orange and white striped top, and pink flip flops! They didn't even notice, so why would I care - unless of course if I had a heart attack in the aisles, I'd have to worry about what color are my underwear and were they clean and new like my mother always warned me about before leaving the house. But that really didn't matter, after all, if those camera shots were the last photos of me on earth, at least I was smiling!!!
SMILE!!!
What's my take-away? Brand yourself with a 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed Smile and customers will ALWAYS want to shop with you!
When you smile, you whole body changes...we all need to smile more.
