I have said this before about asking a client what is their preference of communication. Well, that needs to be done with the mortgage and title company with the clients as well. I had issues with this loan officer and blogged about it. Well the file finally got to the processor and in underwriting, but communication has failed again. If it was not for me on top of this file it would slip through the cracks. I e-mailed the title company and loan officer. Finally got a response stating that in underwriting there still some conditions to be met and had the e-mail address of this processor on it. So since the loan officer will not e-mail me back, I asked her. She states there are still some conditions to be met and she e-mailed the buyer on Friday. Well I told her the buyer does not check his e-mail. She states she had no number for him and nothing on us as the Realtors. Man has this loan officer not done his job of getting her a number or maybe this large mortgage brokerage just has communication error in its office. There has been one problem after another. This file was suppose to close today and it may not close this month. An easy closing has turned out to be a headache. So again- check on your contract constantly- make sure all is done.  If not than push to get going. Check on not just your client, but the buyer side, title and mortgage to make sure everything is smooth.Make sure there are not communication issues and that everyone can correspond with eachother.

Cathleen:  A good point.  It is also worth noting that not a lot of agents communicate very much at all with the lender, or title company.  I'll never understand that.

Excellent point.  My first broker taught me an important lesson.  Always do the work for the other person.  It will make your life a lot easier.

Thanks guys for the comments. We do communicate with the lender, title and other Realtors until the the file is closed. We work hard for our clients and have been know as hard nosed and very effective in communication on our contracts. It is extremely important as Tony said that you do the work for the other person in order to get your file closed. Communicate Communicate Communicate until the file is closed! Run much smoother!!

That is the worst part of our jobs I think.  I am really good at getting my clients to go with one of the lenders I have.  They make my job 10 times better.  I have a deal right now with a client using a lender I do not know, and because of the lender dropping the ball, (I am running around doing her job) we are closing 30 days late.  Best of luck on getting it closed.

Thank you Kim- yes this lender was not my pick- the client chose him because close to him and was his banking institution. We as an office will not use this loan officer.
