Lenn, my wife and I have been married 16+ years. We have movrd 11 times. Four of these were to a different state. MISERY!!!!

Lenn I hope you move went well, and you find a new place to settle into quickly.

Lenn, moving is disruptive no matter how prepared you are! Enjoy your day!

Lenn- I've moved a lot as an adult and have the greatest empathy for sellers and buyers because of it.  I'm organized when it comes to moving but it's still a PITA. 

Lenn, my poor wife lived in the same house from birth til marriage, nearly 20 years.  In that same period of time I had moved seven times, but thought nothing of it: I was an adventurer (then).  We married while I was in the military, and did the mobile home park shuffle in between my TDY [temporary duty] assignments.  While I was off to see the world, she was packing and unpacking.  Upon discharge, I returned to college, and then into the ministry: the gal had become expert in packing and unpacking.  By our 17th Anniversary, we had moved 13 more times (April 1984).  We had owned a mobile home and two houses, but after 3 more moves, we purchased our current home in 1987 (20th anniversary).  Since June 1987, we have watch sapplings grow into large Maple, Oak and Bradford Pear trees, plus our Ginko tree (grandkids' favorite).  The longest either of us have retained the same address and phone number.  I had invisioned this being my retirement home, and even joshed with the kids that "when I die, dig a hole at the foot of the deck steps and roll me in--I am here to stay."  My wife has lost both parents, and inherited 32 acres.  She wants to go home, and I owe her that.  I am a country boy, love my time on a tractor, sitting in the shade, and the prospect of having running room for nine grandkids.  Working on our last move, but there are so many roots to pull up.  I want to take the Ginko with me, but it is now about twent feet tall and ten inches in diameter.  I'm stubborn, so the poor tree may get a taste of what my wife has experienced.

I've moved 24 times in my life, lived in 3 different countries, finally am settled in two states with 2 homes.  Did I enjoy my moves? Absolutely, there was always something new to go to. Until my last move 6 years ago, the home was never as important as what brought me there. 

I've thought about you and this move many times.  Did you end up where you thought last time we talked?

Hi Lenn.  Moving is such a pain even if you are very organized.  Stay tough.

Yes, this is one of my least favorite activities and try to avoid it.  5 or 6 yrs ago I moved my office.  I think that might have been even worse.  - Debbie

Wow, I did not know you are moving. My last move was exactly across the street. But it was a full scale move, and a full-scale disaster. 2 years later I am still missing some stuff, it is sitting somewhere in the storage...

Kathy Streib called me yesterday in a fitful panic.  Okay, may not quite that, but she assumed I am my Lenn's Keeper, and called me.  And I couldn't help her!

Tom White and I have been in this house for 8 years. We plan on being here for 10 - 15 more years. By then, Tom will be ready for the old folks home.

Lenn, move is after all a 4-letter word.  And there's going to be one in my fairly near future.  Not looking forward to it one single bit!

Lenn Harley - I believe it is a nature of Internet socializing/friendships that we know only what we are let to know. Life is way more than what we see on the virtual surface. On the one hand it makes it easy,a nd we love it because of it, as it does not have the weight of real friendships.

But the other side of the coing is that there might be something happening behind the scenes, and even if we could help in some way, we are not aware. there is some unsettling feeling that you are not comfortable at this point, and I only can say that if I could help, I would. Simply wanted you to know.

I knew you were moving but didn't realize you didn't know where you were moving! I hope things materialize and a clear picture is a reality soon. We've  lived in our house for 21 years and not expecting to move anytime soon. We love our single story with a pool and are staying put. Over the years we have not been afraid to discard items we are not using. We remodeled several times and love our home! I'm sure I'll feel the same way when it is time to move:).
