On June 29, 2015, National Association of Realtors® (NAR) reported that nationwide pending contract signed home sales were higher 0.9% to an index of 112.6 in May of 2015 from an index of 111.6 in April of 2015, and increased 10.4% to an index of 101.9 from May of 2014.
Pending home sales index in the Northeast climbed 6.3% to an index of 93.9 in May of 2015 from April 2015, and rose 10.6% from May of 2014. Pending home sales index in the Midwest dropped 0.6% to an index of 111.4 in May of 2015 from April 2015, and gained 7.8% from May of 2014. Pending home sales index in the South down 0.8% to an index of 127.8 in May of 2015 from April 2015, but jumped 10.6% over from May of 2014. Pending home sales index in the West were up 2.2% to an index of 104.5 in May of 2015 from April 2015, increased 13.0% from May of 2014, according to Adam DeSanctis of www.Realtor.org
Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, stated "It's very encouraging to now see a broad based recovery with all four major regions showing solid gains from a year ago and new home sales alsocoming alive."
