Drug tests are expanding...

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

I just talked with a friend who is a licensed agent several hundred miles from me.

He informed me that is Brokerage was requiring Drug testing.

I guess there was an issue with one of the agents in the office and the issue cost the Brokerage a lot of money.

I know in areas of high risk of injury and many government jobs, this is very normal...even in sports Drug testing is prevalent (Albeit for another reason.)

Is this something anyone else has come across and what would you do if asked to take one?

I can see that in most professions agents or employees represent the brokerage or owners. Testing positive for drugs may be a sign of future problems.

Good morning William,

History may be repeating itself like the Roman Empire here!

I have not heard of drug testing here but could see why.

Make yourself a great day.

Good Morning William Feela

Drug use is rampant. The use of opiates is increasing. A sad state of affairs.

Although I am not against the idea...I do think in many states an employing broker will not be allowed to force a test on an independent contractor.

I don't have a problem with drug testing.  Though, I would like to see our government leaders tested along with doctors, police and firemen.

William

A broker can test for drugs . . . .  if the guidelines are in the policy manual . . . . and it's done consistently in the company.

Good luck and success.

Hello William ... great post my friend because VB doesn't use and think that drug testing should be stricter

I have been working with some construction workers in Cali that use, if they are suspected, they just get a kit to pass ... I don't like working with users
