Here we are April 15th already.  This day is a much dreaded day for many of us procrastinators.  Many of us scramble on this day to file our automatic extension with the IRS.  I hope I can be of some help.  The following post office is taking mail until 11:59 pm.  This will allow your tax return to be postmarked on April 15th and that's all the IRS needs to see to consider your return filed on time.

Please remember that an extension is just asking permission to file later and not permission to pay later.  If you think you owe the IRS some money, then you should try to send them what you think you may owe with your extension.  The State of California gives you until October to file but if you owe them money then they would like it by April 15th as well.
