If you are in the mood for a delicious gyros sandwich, then I suggest that you work your way to Pita Paradise. Located at 225 W Cocoa Beach Causeway in Cocoa Beach, Pita Paradise is a recently opened eatery on the northwest corner of SR 520 and Highway A1a.
Pita Paradise is owned and operated by two gentlemen, one Greek and one Lebanese. Having lived in Greece for two years, I can attest to the fact that the gyros sandwich was spot on spectacular! Pita bread is very often a difficult thing to get right with restaurants here in the states. The pita bread at Pita Paradise was perfect. Thick, soft and warm, it was filled with perfectly cooked gyros meat. The tomatoes on the sandwich were ripe and sweet and the tzataiki sauce was creamy, tasty and plentiful. I can honestly say that the gyros sandwich rivaled those that I enjoyed in downtown Athens (although truth be told, they don't call them "gyros" in Athens they are referred to as souvlaki).
The food is worth a trip from virtually anywhere in Brevard County. I am looking forward to trying the shawarma on my next visit!
