Good morning Endre,

The memories of being taught to type were forgotten but the memories of the red and black ink from the ribbons all over one's hand and oh yes the paper cuts!

Make yourself a great day.

Endre, Typing may have been the most practical course I ever took in high school!  But my typerwriter wasn't quite as old as the one in the photo :)  Bill

Endre,

My High School had a low budget and that looks like the typerwriter I learned how to type on for business classes. I remember really having to pound on those keys and balance my finger tips with just the right strike or my fingers could slip between the keys. But I managed to beat the class record typing 120 wpm and ironically, I was rewarded with GOLD STARS!

Endre - that is a lot older but I did take a typing class in 9th grade which is one of the best things I did.  We had manual Underwood typewriters.

I have to say I was really happy to buy an electric typewriter, but my mom's looked very much like the one in your photo.  And I used it right up through graduating high school. Many moons before personal computers were the norm in every home.

That is an old one. I got my mom and dad's old typewriter. Just seeing it brings back fond memories of hearing the hum.

Endre,

Hess Vineyards in Napa has a museum of art.  One of the art pieces I like is a flaming typewriter with the roller on fire.  Inflammatory content of political essays is the story behind it.  I know you will appreciate it.
