Consumers and businesses have been experiencing an unusually high volume of “Ransomware” virus infections on computers. These viruses are usually triggered by a harmful link in an email or non-mainstream website. These infections are extremely troublesome and often cause loss of data. Please be aware of this, and remain vigilant when accessing links in email messages and on the Internet.
The common thread of most of these viruses, is that the harmful links do not make sense in the context of daily business. For example, a message appearing to be from Ebay probably has no business context.
Viruses are one of the many reasons that valuable data should not be stored on your PC’s hard drive, but instead stored in Filesite or another network location.
