In August of 2009 there was an article about a new way to buy houses. It was called the NationalBLS, buyer's listing service. Like a dating service it tried to connect buyers with sellers.
"This was the first service for pre-approved residential real estate buyers. It was a service where buyers could anonymously post their requirements and receive offers from eager sellers. It's real estate in reverse."
This was good for buyers because they wouldn't have to be pounding the pavement weekend after weekend. They could wait for a seller to contact them.
I thought, wow, what if this thing takes off? Could it hurt real estate agents?
Well, sellers don't want to do the legwork either. Sellers wants the buyers to chase them, not the other way around. Sellers are paying to sell their house afterall, and are they going to work too? Don't buyers know how hard it is for sellers to put a house on the market?
So, it looks like the NationalBLS went out of business. Or I haven't heard from them.
