Closing on a property doesn’t mean closing the relationship you have developed with your clients. An important part of a closing comes after, when you have an opportunity to receive feedback from the client about their experience. Here are some tips for maintaining a relationship after a deal has been closed.
- · Show the client you appreciate them with a small personal touch. Send them a thank you note; they will appreciate that you took the time to personally thank them for their business.
- · Ask for feedback about the transaction. Contact the client a couple of weeks after closing and request they leave an online review about their experience. With the transaction fresh in their minds they are more likely to give a thorough review.
- · Referrals are vital to any business; if the customer was happy with their transaction they will be more likely to refer others to you. Chances are a client knows someone that can use your company’s services.
- · Keep in touch after the transaction is closed. A monthly newsletter is a great way to stay in touch with clients; if they need your services in the future they won’t need to go far to find your information.
- · Encourage the client to connect with the company on social media. There are many great resources to network online and build client relationships.
It may be easy to move on to the next client after a deal is closed but past clients are crucial to future business. Showing your clients that they aren’t just another number will create potential for repeat business in the future.
