The End of a Minneapolis Vacation from Sacramento

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

When you don't live in the same state as most of your family, it can be hard to say goodbye when it's time to leave them. Of course, if I still wanted to be living in Minneapolis, that's where we would be. I need to go there more often in the frigid winters to remind myself why I prefer Sacramento over Minneapolis.

In the summertime, though, Minneapolis can't be beat. It's not a brutal dry heat like Sacramento, just a little moisture, a bit of humidity. There is so much to do in Minneapolis that you really don't need to go "Up North" or, as is the case of a city like Sacramento that offers fewer summer options in town, go to the coast or Lake Tahoe. Still, it's super hard to leave. Maybe that's why I rarely visit.

I do enjoy coming home to our quiet house and our 3 cats. You can read more in my personal blog today and see the photos at this link: Saying Goodbye to Minneapolis with Brunch at Nicollet Island Inn.

Hi Elizabeth.  There is no way you sacrifice who you are to be successful in real estate.

Our dysfunctional family is one for the books.  It could be made into a series for the TV.  On the bright side you were able to have some quality time with your sister.

Heartwarming to hear that you connected with your brother. We need to share some stories. We'll do that at Huggo's on the Rocks soon.

David Shamansky I think one of the reasons some people do move away from family is to enjoy the distance. It does spare you the day-to-day drama.

Conrad Allen You're right; I'm too stubborn and pig-headed to compromise who I am.

James Dray I suspect everybody's got some little quirk in the closet of their families. I hear the same sorts of stories from others.

Hella Mitschke Rothwell I have yet to visit Huggos on the Rocks, but I imagine it's a good place to hang out. Haven't really done much in town but looking forward to it!!

I haven't visited my family of cousins in Kansas in years.  I made trips there often when my aunts and uncles were living.  However, I have a sister, who lived first in Alaska, then Oregon, then Montana, and now Idaho.  I love visiting her, and hate leaving!

That's a nice photo of your bunch!

Family stuff is something we all have in common.  I'm glad you were able to talk with your brother.

Your niece is hilarious.  Yes.  She needs a one week trip to shadow her Aunt Elizabeth to know that conformity is for mediocre agents.
