It's one for the money, and two for the show three to get ready, it's a go Mixpo! ActiveRain and Mixpo have officially partnered to bring you a powerful new tool and platform for your video editing and video productions. A simple way to create, edit, and produce Video that can be used on your AR Blogs, Profiles, and Websites. Mixpo is now available for ActiveRain Members!

CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW MIXPO VIDEO WORKS FOR YOUR BUSINESS!

While in the introductory stage of incorporating Mixpo Video, you can still sign up for a monthly subscription at a very low price, or you can save a few bucks by subscribing annually. "You mean there's a fee?" Yes there is, but it's a minimal fee for what you'll get, and it is only to help defray the cost of implementing and supporting the application for all the ActiveRain members here.

If you would like to get a jump on the "New Wave" of Real Estate Video 2.0 and give Mixpo a run, you can set it up NOW!. For $29/month, or $290/year (that's two months free) we can get you access directly to Mixpo. Since their isn't currently a way to directly purchase the product, you will need to use the ActiveRain Paypal. You can transfer the money to ActiveRain's Paypal account by going to Paypal.com. Use the email address billing@activerain.com. Once you make the transfer, send me or Bob Stewart an email with a copy of your receipt, and we will get you activated right away. (within 24 hours) EDIT: NEW UPDATE: AR Video is now fully integrated into ActiveRain. To sign up, just click on the video reel in the toolbar of any new post or comment. This post was created before we implemented the AR Video Platform. It is now fully Integrated. (New Post Coming Soon, or this one to be completely re-done) Edited 9/11/2008

As we go through the integration (speculating about 4-6 weeks), anything that you produce on the 'Mixpo' console will eventually show up on your video.activerain.com account once the integration is complete. Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions or concerns. I have been testing and working with Mixpo since my first day here at ActiveRain, and I am happy we are ready to finally roll it out to members. Here are just some of the Features and Benefits I have noted using the Mixpo tools, editing and on-line production console:

Brad, can you clarify something that is not 100% clear?  Is the fee only during the introductory stage for the early adopters or will the cost still be the same once Mixpo is integrated with Active Rain?

Brian - it will remain 29.00 even after the integration period.  The nice thing is that you can do a month to month if you like, or save a couple bucks if you sign up for it annually.  Not trying sell it here, just providing it to those who are interested.  We have quite a few on there already.  Let me know if you have any other questions of need any assistance.  Thanks Brian.  :-)

Scott - absolutely!  You can also embed from pretty much all the video sources out there, mixpo is unique in that it will allow members easy online editing, production and posting capabilities.  It will also be integrated to your Blog Posting page on AR.  (soon)  You can use any Video editing software you like, many members don't have access to those applications, or have the time to learn them, they just want quick and easy, but yet quality and professional.

Brad, thanks for all your help tonight with MIXPO, I'll post my first shot at it tomorrow. You are such an excellent teacher, I appreciate all the time you took. I played around with it for 2 hours, after we hung up. I'm sure I'll get better with practice, both with my interviewing and with Mixpo.

What an amazing program ! I can't believe all the things you can do with it.

Thanks again !

Wow Brad, sounds like AR is on the move to not only be the best social network but we are preparing to do some serious dazzling for the consumers. I was going to buy the Flip, then hesitated because it really allows no real quality control. I am still up in the air on which way I want to go on this. If shooting in lower light as many homes would be, I am confused if the MIXPO editing can or does add the light source much like PhotoShop does for stills.

Kimberly - just click on the link (paypal) in this post, then send Bob or myself your receipt.  This is how we are getting all the other members setup.  It's really easy, really inexpensive, and really really powerful.  It's a great tool for your profile here, your Blog posts, your websites and pretty soon you'll be able to upload to video hosting services.  (coming soon.....)  I got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time!   :-)

Steve - I really appreciate that invitation, but my plate was a little full today helping members get setup on Mixpo and answering a few phone calls and questions.  Also, I had to get this post ready this morning and then out, so I apologize for missing the teleseminar, but maybe I'll catch the next one.  Maybe you'd like to be a guest on one of our upcoming Web/Techinars.  (another project I'll be announcing soon for those who don't see this comment...Big Smile) I'd be happy to discuss my potential guest list and the possibility of having you on it.  "Flip Video Secrets and Mixpo Professional"  sounds like a great online Techinar.  I'll check out your recorded podcast, and we can cahoot later about it....thanks Steve.

The syndication and indexing features look interesting. Are there any specific tips from Mixpo on how we can best optimize our videos for the search engines?

John - syndication and indexing is as simple as putting a check mark in a box. By doing so, your Video is indexed by Google, AOL Video, Yahoo, MSN, and others.  I will be doing some tutorial posts which will include tips like the one's you requested.  I am working closely with our team and Mixpo to make this information readily available and extremely accurate. The edited and final video allows you to create a title, add tag or keywords, put a description, just as you do a blogpost, but one click syndication? Now that's awesome.  Wait till you see all the other features and benefits of Mixpo, not to mention upgrades in the future and AR enhancements for members.  Lif is really good in the rain right now!!   :-)

I am already working on a simple tutorial for Mixpo and for our newest members who have signed up already.  Give me a day or two and I'll have that posted.  Thanks for all your calls today, I know you'll ALL be pleased not only with Mixpo, but with the RESULTS it will hopefully generate for you and your business.  There are only a few of you that I haven't gotten back to yet, I had to step away for dinner, and I'm returning emails and voice mails now. Thank for being so patient!  :-)

Sharon - I'd leave in the morning if I could, but I am seeing my Brother this weekend (you know that story) Then in Tennessee on the 5/6 - 5/7.  Maybe we can set something up after that. I'd be happy and willing to come do a "Live" Techinar if you feel we could get enough attendance to justify the time and cost.  Staying at the Casa Simms would already cover most of my expenses, and you know I'd be honored....let's kick this idea around a bit and see what we can put together.  Shoot, I'd come out there just to see you, I hope you know that!   :-)))

William - The best of the best SIR!!  :-)  The flip is just that, flip and shoot!  Easy to use, carry, access, and download.  It;s not the Top of the line Camcorder, but it is the #1 selling video camera according to a post I read by another AR employee.  I know that they are also sold out of them in a lot of places across the country.  I guess you could say people are "Flippin Out!" LOL!~ haha!!

Mixpo can do a lot of things but it is not an ADOBE Premier, or Pinnacle Studio etc.  Mixpo does offer one thing no one else has, and that's links embedded in the final videos that can link your viewers anywhere you want them to go. It's also nice that everything is all available online anytime.

If you need help making a decision, I'd be happy to help.  Mixpo and Flip Video may not be the best thing or solution for William, and I'd be happy to help you determine that based on what you want and need to do, and how much time or money you want to invest. just let me know.

Thanks my friend, have a great night...   :-)

Neat stuff, Brad, but wish there was a way to purchase other than PayPal. I refuse to use them because of past issues. And dealing with the account I supposedly have but can never access is a trial. And did I mention the spam I get repeatedly? Hope it works for others. I'm bummed but I'll get over it.

Jeff

10:00am • #36

Jeff - we can set you up outside of paypal, sorry you had a poor experience in the past with them.  Once we make the transition to videos.activerain.com, you should be able to access by credit card or check to AR.  I'm not positive of that, but I'm sure that's the plan.  The paypal was setup for those who wanted to get a jump start using mixpo and video on their sites and blogs.

After reading all the National News and media about Real Estate Video, there are many members wanting to get on the wagon right away.  If you want us to make a different arrangement for you, no problem, just let me know.

Thanks Jeff, hope to see you again real soon.  :-)

I think I'm going to have to dive into this.  One question...

If we drop the Mixpo service in the future, what happens to the videos?  Can we host them elsewhere so that they are still available?

Lane - that's a great question, not one I had considered realizing that anyone using Mixpo would never stop. LOL!~  Seriously though, I a looking into that and will post the answer back here shortly.  I think the mixpo team may be busy along with some of us AR folks just keeping up with everything that's going on right now.  I'll be back in a bit to confirm and answer for you. How is that better than having your own video editing software? Especially when there's a monthly fee? And will Mixpo have the same extensive capabilities as personal software?

How is that better than having your own video editing software? Especially when there's a monthly fee? And will Mixpo have the same extensive capabilities as personal software?

Lisa - I can't say that using Mixpo is better than your own video editing software.  I do know mixpo has tools that you won't find in most video editing applications ie: Links embedded in video, SEO options, hosting etc.  I also know that many Real Estate Professionals don't want to spend the hundreds of dollars and time it takes to learn video editing software, they just want simple and professional.  Mixpo may not be for everyone, AR is just making it available for those who need or see the value and benefit.   In reference to the extent of capabilities?  It has some tools you won't get elsewhere, but it is no comparison to Adobe Premier or some of the other High End Hollywood type video editing applications.

One really nice feature, it's all on line. No software, no computer to have to carry around, access from any computer with internet etc.  It's great for those who want easy access, ease of use, and some new and useful tools with video that no other software or host currently provides.  I use Pinnacle Studio, Adobe Premier, and Mixpo as my video editing and production tools, each has it's own unique features and capabilities, just depends on the project at hand. :-) Sorry for such a long response, thought this might help though...   :-)

9:54pm • #43
Lane - I checked with Mixpo about your question.  They let me know that you will have the ability to download your files from their server to be hosted where ever you want soon.  If you are not a subscriber, or you cancel, they would have to remove the library where your videos would be hosted.  If you downloaded whatever you created there, you'd have no losses if you canceled.  I checked with some other hosting sites, and this is a standard protocol for ALL of them.  Great question, thanks for asking it.  :-)

And she is right. Then you are right too.

Jon - I understand totally.  I'd be lying if I said I hadn't experienced those sessions myself.  This is not something anyone has to do, it's available only if they want to, and feel it would be beneficial.  I would not want anyone to spend unnecessarily or have any conflicts because of it.  Thanks for sharing your comment and your honesty so openly.  Balance is so important, and it's what we all seek!!

IMPORTANT REQUEST!!!

For the many of you who have already signed up with Mixpo, I'd like to share your work and videos with other members here.  I want to create a post with links to some of your "works of art" showing how creative and useful Video really is to our business.  Please let me know when you have completed some videos that you don't mind sharing, either by leaving a comment and a link here, or just include "Mixpo" in your tags or keywords, and I'll come find them.  Thanks, I wanted to share a couple I have found on AR already.

If you are wondering why Video is so important to You, Your Business, Your Blogs, and Your Websites, you might want to read the following articles written by other pros specifically giving their perspectives on Video in today's Real Estate Industry:

There are so many others out there, all you have to do is a "Google Search" on "Real Estate Video", and I guarantee, you'll be convinced that Video in your business is not something to pass up or take lightly.  It will be a bigger part of our future and success than we realize right now.  To stay ahead of the competition, you really need to consider all your options with Video now.  :-)

Hello Brad, you did it again!  You are so on the cutting edge.  I will do my best to try it and learn it but it seems that lack of time is my major issue.

Thanks for doing so much for us!

Thank you

Marzena - thanks for the puppy "love", very cute!!  :-)  I will say this, if you know how to add this little animated .gif file to a comment on AR, you'll have no problems at all with video or mixpo.

Time is everyone's biggest challenge and that's not just related to Blogging.  Email alone can take its toll on our time management skills, but sharpening those skills is a life long endeavor.

Managing time is no more difficult than managing our lives sometimes.  We have to do the things in life that are most important to us, no matter what investment of time that takes.  Living life with no regrets should be our ultimate goal, then time won't really matter as much anymore.  That's my Bradism for today!  LOL!~  :-)))

Brad - Great information but still not stuck on the idea of a monthly fee when there are many sites out there like zipvo and listedhomevideos that are free to use, will keep an eye out for this service.  BTW when did Mixpo started charging could of sworn they were free last year?
2:29pm • #60

Brad...I've used video on my website for about 2 years now and already have a camcorder and editing software (which I'm not overly thrilled with), BUT...my issue has always been WHERE the videos are uploaded to.  Google and UTube never produced good quality.  So my questions are this:

1) Where are your mixpo videos uploaded to? AR, Mixpo?
2) How many or how much can you upload? As you know, google video is unlimited and free. I read something on mixpo a while back on their site and I thought I saw something about like a 500 meg limit of uploaded files.  Can you clarify that?

THANKS!  I'm looking forward to using this soon!

Justin - I'm not aware of Mixpo ever being free, I do know you can't get it just by going to their website, it's some kind of Business to Business arrangement.  As far as the other video platforms out there, it's really a matter of preference.  One has features and benefits that the others don't and visa versa.  Kinda like IBM and Mac!

OMG!  Did I type that out loud?  Sorry guys, no comparison...didn't mean to do that! Ooops!!  There is no comparison between IBM and Mac.  JT, that was for you!  (Big Smile)  :-)))))

David - your video's are uploaded to mixpo.com.  The embed code can then be placed anywhere you desire.  Soon the will have the tools available to allow uploading to other video warehouses, libraries, and hosts.  As far as amounts uploaded or limitations? None, unlimited...within normal limits! LOL!~  I have not heard that there is any limit to size or storage using mixpo.  Let me know if you need any help at all. I'm Here and Happy to do it.

Mary Anne - I'm not sure you can compare the two, I am very familiar with both, I even know Frank Garay and Brian Stevens personally from TBWS, and I'd have to say that they are different platforms and used for different purposes entirely.  In fact, they may even compliment each other.  I have TBWS for one side of my business, and Mixpo for the other.  Sorry I can't help more, it's just my observation and opinion for what it's worth!  :-))))

Both have contact management capabilities and are both very powerful and beneficial video tools.  If you're not Vlogging, then you're not Blogging!  :-)

Awesome... I've suspected video will be the next big thing in marketing as bandwidths increase in more and more households.  It's a great way to build rapport with potential clients faster as they can see you in live motion which makes it seem as if they already know you.

I'll be reading up on everything I can find about this.  Thanks

Brad,

I think you convinced Mike to try Mixpo.  He signed up today.  I think it is awesome from what I can tell.  I look forward to learning more about it.  Joey

Joey - I think Mike was convinced about ActiveRain Video once he saw the tools and ways it could help his business. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help with it.  I'd be happy to assist you anytime you need. Have a great weekend my friend.  :-)

Brad...your comment to me...

David - your video's are uploaded to mixpo.com.  The embed code can then be placed anywhere you desire.  Soon, we will have the tools available to allow uploading to other video warehouses, libraries, and hosts.  As far as amounts uploaded or limitations? None, unlimited...within normal limits! LOL!~  I have not heard that there is any limit to size or storage using mixpo.  Let me know if you need any help at all. I'm Here and Happy to do it.

THANK YOU A BUNCH BRAD !!!!!!  I am pretty convienced after 2 years that "Mixpo" is the route to go.  I definitely will convert over soon !!

8:16am • #74

David - when you do sign up, let me know, I'll save you some time and learning curve if you need it. :-)

1:57pm • #75

Thanks Brad....I WILL DO.  I'm closing several deals on June 2nd and will have some extra cash flow to allocate to some upgrades to what I'm doing and Mixpo is my top priority.

The video camera I'm using is a Cannon 4.0 Mega Pixel DVD R/RW that says NTSC DC 40.  I cost about $900 about 2-3 years ago.  You think the quality is up to speed for today's videos?

2:28pm • #76

David - your Cannon should be fine, if you're happy with the video it produces, then others will be too.  We'll have to see a couple videos from you and then have other members let us know if they feel it hits the mark.

Here we go! I'm almost ready for primetime.  Paypal has received payment!  I'm just waiting on activation now.

Web-Based video editing is the next thing. If you are new to creating online videos, might as well start there because pretty soon you won't need your PC or Mac to do it anymore!

Tracy - just call me if you need any help. the paypal acct is Billing@Activerain.com to get you setup and started.  Just send me a copy of your paypal receipt, we'll do the rest.  :-)

Dave - you may be right, for those who have never used video and photo editing, this may be the only thing they will ever know. I use a wide variety of editing tools, mainly so I know how they work so that I can support others who need help in that area. I like iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, Pinnacle Studio, but ARVideo with Mixpo Rocks.  There are things you can do with Mixpo that uoi can't do with any other video editing apps.  :-)

Hi Mr. DeMille, er Brad...I'm ready (finally) for my close-up with my Flip and I need Mixpo!   LOL!

Really though, I have questions about Mixpo, can I use it on other blogs (my Real Estate Tomato blog, and on Rain City Guide - both are wordpress) too?

Is there an additional charge to use it at more than one location?

So, assuming I can use Mixpo on them as well as AR, do I still pay through paypal?   ....and who and where is "paypal"?

Okay, that about covers it, thanks!

Hi again Brad, FYI, I was asking about paypal 'cause the link does not work (in the article....time affect all things ya know!) so I am not sure if we still go through paypal or ? and how will they *know* it's for mixpo (AR)?

Thanks again!

7:34pm • #83

Hi Deb - Mr. DeMille here, lol~

1. You can post to any site you wish, (as long as they allow you the ability to embed video codes) Websites, Blogs etc. as many as you like with no additional fees.

2. Thanks for letting me know the link was bad, I took it out of this post but the process is still the same. Go to Paypal.com and make payment to Billing@Activerain.com. That's it.  We will evetually have it setup where you can pay directly with a CC, but we still hav to integrate Mixpo to video.activerain.com.

That account was specifically setup for ActiveRain/Mixpo subscribers so they'll know what your payment is for.

Just send me the receipt, and I'll take care of the rest for you. Thanks. :-)

Outside Blog

Hello Brad! I am currently working with HelloWorld right now... My video site is MyHomeHunter.TV.  I have only produced about 10 video's so far...the thing I like about this site is the fact that you can send video emails with banner links....you can broadcast Live on the internet and of course just record video like these and post to YouTube and AR...the one down fall that I just found out about is when you Embed a video, it automatically plays when you open the web page...so, if all 4 of my blogs open at once...4 of me are talking all at once....so, I must go in tonight and change the video to a click-able Graphic to solve this problem...I get all this for 10.00 per month.

I am going to check out Mixpo and see if they have all of these options too.  There are differences of course...mixpo has the link direct in the video and it seems like it is more user friendly with to all computer users...I am not sure yet.

Do you know anything about HelloWorld?

Thanks Again!

Wayne  - AR video is just another option available to our members if you're interested.  There is a fee, and many feel that it is justified for the value in return.  There are some great features in Mixpo that I have yet to see from any other site or service out there.  :-)

****   IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!   ****

Mixpo and AR Video will be adding a new feature in the weeks ahead, allowing members and subscribers the ability to upload directly to their (VIDEO) library ANY files that have difficulty being uploaded via the normal uploading process.

This includes all file types, that for one reason or another are not able to upload using AR Video and Mixpo directly.  Look for it coming very soon.  This is an awesome upgrade!  :-)

I may have missed it ,but do you have a recommendation for an affordable camera besides the little tiny one I've heard about.

Thanks

Is this now compatible with the Mac?  According to an email I received, it is, but just want to make sure before I do this again....

Mixpo is available to Mac Users now with a server-side transcoding
option (similar to YouTube).  If you utilize the Studio, in the Visuals
tab there is now an "Upload Media to Your Library" option which allows
you to upload to us the source video, we automatically transcode it and
place it in your media library for use in VideoAds.

12:53pm • #98

Fred - they have added a upload file utility for Mac Users like us.  The only issue I see at this point is that the file size was limited to 200 megs.  They may have corrected that now.  :-)

Hi Brad,

I use Wellcomemat.com  I signed up for mixpo and have been paying monthly now for 4 months.  I haven't been able to get it to work.  I would want to add videos to my active rain site, my offsite blog and to my mls.  The little I tried with mixpo was difficult.  It may be myself.  I have been able to use wellcomemat easily.

Do I have to keep paying for the whole year or can I cancel my subscription?  I don't see any way to cancel the auto-pay feature on active rain.  I suppose I could call my bank but would rather work it from the mixpo side.

2:40am • #100

Marty - if you need some help getting it to work, I'd be happy to help you out.  If you need to cancel, we can work that out for you too.  There should be an option to discontinue in your "Billing" tab on your "My Home" link.  If you need assistance, just let me know, either way, I'll try to help you out.  Thanks.  :-)
