Well I have to tell you that it was a great week..... 14 scuba dives, lots of fresh and I mean FRESH fish and well adult beverages....... But that isn't what I learned from vacation.

 No what I learned

thanks to not having an INTERNATIONAL phone package and well leaving the blackberry OFF, is that the world can survive without me! and I can survive without the world.....

amazing concept

Business went on.  My clients knew I was going to be gone and they SURVIVED.  It was actually probably good for all of us.  We all went on with our lives.... I learned that the time away for me to refresh is important (and I am spoiled that I travel 3 to 4 times a year) and my clients learned that the world doesn't end just because I am gone.

Now, I am lucky!  I have a great staff that is intelligent and knows the business and they instill trust in my and their clients.  And we have an understanding in the office..... if a client calls take care of the client and

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE COMMISSION

That is minor and secondary to helping the client and my staff gets it and understands that.  My loan officers picked up loans that would have gone to me, BUT they helped the client, they got the deals and they will get the commission...... That is my call, but they did what they are suppose to do...... That is serve the client and not worry about what is in it for them.

And that is really the point

TAKE CARE OF THE CLIENT

I'm so happy you enjoyed a relaxing and refreshing vacation.  My turn in July, however, two weeks at the beach with two kids that fight isn't exactly paradise.  I'm just going to make the best of it.

Me thinks the kids might find a bond at the beach.......  as Jimmy Buffet sings ...."breathe in breathe out"

Everyone needs to take time to unwind and a break from everyday work and business. Glad you had a good vacation. Now post some pictures.

These really are great lessons!  Having time off just to dream and relax is important for us all!  Congrats!
