Spring Views and Positive Inspiration: Transformations! by Feng Shui Long Island New York City

By
Home Stager with Feng Shui Manhattan Long Island #888

Spring was so late in coming this year; or perhaps it just felt that way.  It's pretty much remained colder then normal and rainy in the Northeast, making the days, although longer, feeling just as gloomy as they were.  I'm sure my impatience for warmer weather and sunshine didn't help.

Feng Shui Long Island, New York

I got up early the other morning and typically do some work on the computer first-and heard, for the first time, SONG.  A beautiful bird obviously close to the house decided to let loose and sing his heart out....no doubt he was feeling well, too.  And I remembered that Spring is not just a season we arrive at it's also a state of mind.  To allow the new in and the old out....it's funny that so many of us are into Spring Cleaning and it's for that very reason, we are READY to allow the new IN and realize it's time to let go of the old, the things that aren't working for us or that haven't been making us happy or serene.

To me Spring is more of a transformation.  Anyone that reads my posts from time to time will often see a butterfly; they are "my" sign because they are a literal sign of Transformation.  While many people are uncomfortable with change, it's a constant in my life and I love it (most of the time).  Springtime reinforces that; plants and flowers are budding and some are blooming (I have one particular tree that blooms for just about a week---I treasure every day of its blooms and it reminds me that it's time to start again).

Feng Shui IS transformation; for my clients and for myself.  I learn as much from every one of them as I do from each consultation and we work on things together.  Energy changes, things around us change and there is transformation, the very thing we set out to create.  I'm actually fortunate that I get to see this all year!

If today was my "start" to Spring (the sun was out, the weather was warm....a perfect Spring day), then I am off to a particularly Auspicious one.  And my own Transformation.  I went today to speak to my old school about the teaching position they have for Feng Shui for the class.  I can't describe the feeling of walking in and the flood of memories that hit but in going over a Feng Shui curriculum for the day, I didn't hesitate not only to accept it, but to feel confident in doing so.

On Tuesday, May 6th I will be teaching in the very place I learned Feng Shui:  The Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design in Plainview, Long Island, NY.  I'm not quite sure what date Spring started on the calendar but for me, it began today.  And I'm filled with nothing but Positive Views for this new adventure!

Very refreshing post, thanks! It seems that the rebirth of spring is seeing a rebirth of sorts for you as well with the new teaching position. And isn't it interesting that you seem to have come full circle to teach where you learned. It is spring for us all. Many congratulations to you!

Carole, I think we are finally finished with snow here, so knock on wood. Your photos are amazing, it has been a long winter and I am looking forward to seeing the daffodiles pop up.

Carole,

How wonderful for you to be teaching in the very school where you learned....they're very fortunate to have you impart your wisdom, talent and many years of experience to all who attend the class.

I've been noticing the birdsong lately too.....this time of the year every gull cry reminds me of the beach and lazy summer skies and coconut oil.

Bird song! The bird feeders on my front lawn attract a lot of birds. I don't know which I enjoy more, watching the birds' antics or listening to their joyful songs.

Andrew, Thanks for your comment, it was a really good day!

Debbie, I'm actually thrilled.  Walking back into that place after so long brought back such a flood of memories.

Sally, I thought it would NEVER get warm here, I was threatening to come to Hawaii :)  Which I still will someday, won't that be fun??

Joan, I hope you have something for your allergies, I do know the feeling!  Spring is finally here, thank goodness!

Ryan, Thank you, some are my pictures and some are from a site.  But I love butterflies and you'll see them often on my posts.

Gary, Thanks for your kind words and good wishes.  Funny that I wasn't at all expecting to take it--and completely changed my mind.

Rich, I felt that way as well, that I've come full circle.  It's exciting and a bit nervewracking all at the same time....

Fred, Believe me, I've been cleaning :)  With the work I've had to do on my home there's not a whole lot left :)

Joan, You're so sweet, I know you mean it.  I am nervous--and excited and sure hope it goes well :)

Deborah, Spring is definitely transforming but this happened to come at a come time.  And it's been COLD out there this year so far, especially for Spring.

Nestor & Katerina, I'm hoping so, I hope I can inspire the people that come into what Feng Shui can do!

Missy, We didn't have much snow but what a LONG winter it was! Or am I just getting older?  It's supposed to get warmer later this week and I can't wait!

Jo, This bird was just beautiful, I stopped everything just to listen!   I guess he's had enough of winter as well.  The school is very exciting for me, I have things to do to prepare for it but how amazing to me.

Kathy, I know, thank you, I'm so glad it worked out.  There was something so wonderful about stepping back inside....it's going to be another adventure.

Margaret, I'm not that confident, believe me but I am thrilled.  It is starting all over again and just a wonderful feeling.

Julie, It's going to be a lot of fun.  I am deliberately not having an "agenda" because I want it to be open, have people ask questions and not feel restricted.  So I'm going to "wing it."

Rosario, I have a feeder directly in the front of my house right in front of the living room windows....and if I'm not careful I can watch them all day :)  They are just beautiful.

Chris, Thanks so much for the words of encouragement, I hope so!!

Carole - I am so happy that spring is here, I have a large garden so I have been watching all my perennials pop up.  While I am outside I have also enjoyed the bird singing as well as the bunnies hopping about.

Love the appearance of your blog.

I love how pretty your Blog looks Carole! Yes I agree Spring is late in coming this year - or at least it feels that way to me too! This week I saw a young man tuck a Rose ever so gently on the windshield of a Car parked in the lot at our towns local Health Club. Spring is here for sure LOL. I'm sure his girlfirend or wife appreciated his gesture of love ....especially after a strenuous workout!

Thanks for sharing and congrats that your full circle (student becomes teacher) season has arrived!

Sincerely,

Grace

Hi Carole, What a delightful post.  Congratulations on your teaching appointment.  It's a wonderful analogy to see you going back to where you began to help others as they too start their careers.  This is the essence of spring...

Jennifer, Thank goodness I lasted the season, it was one LONG winter we had and I'm sure it was worse for you upstate!  That picture was from a garden I was in Paris....I loved it and it does look pretty, thank you.

Trace, It is finally warmer here though still colder then normal.  But we've gotten a few 70 degree days, those perfect ones and I'm enjoying the sunshine and the birds again!

Fernando,  I loved Providence!  We had a summer house in Bristol and I used to spend so much time up in Rhode Island, I love the state (and yes, it's cold there but pretty much the same as here I believe :)

Grace, What a nice thing for that man to do, I hope his girlfriend or wife appreciates it!  I was finally able to put the header on my blog (it only took two tries) and that's a picture I took of a park in Paris.  So I can be reminded every time I sign on!

Melissa, I thing we're all thrilled Spring has finally come, it was a much longer and colder winter (with almost no snow!!) --  or maybe it just FELT that way.

Lola, Thank you, I am thrilled about both.  It's an honor to be invited back and the timing is wonderful :)  Now I am wondering what to wear :)
