Bars, How Big Do They Need To Be?

I found this article in Forbes and found it quite interesting. Out of all the features you can have in a luxury home, the one item getting bigger/more expensive is the bar.

Recently I toured a new construction home and looking back now, they did have a massive bar, another house had not one, but 3 bars on 3 different levels. So I guess perhaps the article is correct.

Have you seen luxury buyers looking for bars as a selling point?

Here is the link to the article again!

Good Tuesday afternoon Stefan Winter -

I sold and closed a luxury home last week and yep it had 3 large bars in it.  It seems for some bigger and more mean better.

Can't say that I've ever sold a house with a built in bar.... well if you don't count breakfast bars.

Hi Stefan.  I don't sell luxury homes but I do see some bars in the lower levels.

It is very nice to have a bar when you are entertaining.

Stefan,

It seems to be the thing in some luxury homes.  I have not seen much of that here...In commercial real estate when one does a restaurant deal in LA, you have to have wheelchair turning radius in a bar.  This really can skew the numbers for a restaurant owner.  A

Looks like the comments on the bars in luxury homes is about 50/50.

Good luck and success.

Stefan, we have a luxury home. It has a beautiful bar with a pool table, off of the theatre. We have our home for sale, but we're the largest and highest priced home here on Fishhawk Lake--way above what the norm is here. Right now, I can't say that the bar is a big draw. We'll see.....thanks for the heads up on the article, and I'll check it out.

Hello Stefan Winter There are some really great homes with elaborate bars.  The Forbes examples are similar to the ones I have seen.

Very interesting it is always cool to explore the new trends and help people who are selling maximize on them when possible.

Frankly, I have never had a sale where the bar was even mentioned.

It's not a trend I've seen here YET Stefan Winter but it reminds me of that CW song where a gal is singing that she is going to turn their home into a bar so he stays home.
