I read this email Monday morning and I have been unable to write a post since . I thought maybe it is time to write about this email that made me close my office door put my head in my hands and cry .

Regretfully Mike Shields passed away this past Friday July 10th.
The death notice I will put at the end of this post out of respect for Mike .
Michael Shields was the kind of agent that always had a smile on his face and something nice to say . When you had a deal with Michael Shields you were a team . Everyone worked together .It was a pleasure to work with Mike Shields He worked at 2471 Grant ave office at Re/Max Eastern in Northeast Philadelphia Pa 19114
When you saw he was the listing agent you let out a sigh of relief When he had the buyer you knew they were well qualified and there would be no problems on his end He would not drop the ball His clients knew he would look out for them
Whenever I was out and about and met up with Mike he would say "Hannah she is the best Real Estate agent around " He had that way about him Michael always made others feel good about themselves
He just called me a few weeks ago and asked me for a swimming pool rider for a sign . I had one Another agent had borrowed it and not returned it He asked if he could have my permission to pick it up from them and I said "of course you can " that was the last time we spoke
His death hit me hard such a kind man engaged to be married Always gave of himself Someone I have worked with for many years We were only friends on a professional level but I think 30 years of work counts .
Heaven certainly must have another angel That is what Amy Hoover said and I think she is right . He will be missed

Michael J. passed away after a brief illness on July 10, 2015. Son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Shields. Loving fiance of Diana Ryan. Devoted brother of Thomas (Deborah), Joseph, Stephen, Joanne Charpentier (James) and John (Kathleen). "Uncle Boparino" to numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was an active member of Knights of Columbus-Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Holmesburg, the A.O.H. and Men of Malvern. Michael devoted a lot of his free time to many different charitable organizations. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday Eve 6-9 PM and Friday 8:30-9:30 AM at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114 followed by his Funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Dominic Church. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Men of Malvern, 315 S. Warren Ave. Malvern, PA 19355 or Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave. Phila., PA 19111 would be appreciated.
