Restaurants and bars account for much of the unemployment increase, so get to dining out and hitting Happy Hour when you can!  The housing and mortgage industries have also obviously seen a drop in employment; lenders cut approximately 2,000 jobs since March 2007.  However, analysts claim March's figures are more a ‘correction' than anything else and that while the market may be stagnant it shouldn't get worse; in fact, the non-residential sector has added 500 jobs since March 2007 which helps offset the real estate job market.

I think the whole country has a "correction".
Let's hope we hit enough Happy Hours to get us over it!

Disposable income has been chewed up by the increase costs for fuel due to the falling dollar and the increased cost for gasoline.  It translates into less dining out, eating at more fast food places where you do not have to tip...with out that source of revenue, small restaurants will close and layoff staff!

You know whats funny - just the other day on the local news they were talking about how restaurants were "recession" proof now. The theory was that people always enjoy eating out and will continue to do so. Think it was on King5 - everyone has their own take, huh?
