Is It In A Name Or Is It YOU?

By
Real Estate Agent with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

I was not shocked or sad when I learned today that my Brokerage merged with ERA Buckhead Realty and changed their name from Century 21 Across Atlantato ERA Buckhead Realty.  After 45 years I know the merge is going to be difficult for some and my heartfelt feelings go out to them.

I on the other hand instantly began to think, change is good.   We learn to adjust to the changes that are made in our lives as well as the daily changes around us.  I believe most of the time change brings about great things.  We should learn to accept change and continue to move forward.

I was thankful to be part of Century 21 Across Atlanta for the past five years.  Of course most people you know are familiar with the name Century 21.  It is actually a household name and people are familiar with the Century 21 "Gold Post."  When I give people my business card they tend to say something like, "You work for a reputable company."  Yes I do and I will continue working for a great and reputable company.

I believe it comes down to who you are and the service you provide to your customers.  I know I am going to be just as successful or more under the name ERA Buckhead Realty.   My Broker's will continue to be the best ever and I know they will continue to provide support as they have always done.

Some people are not happy about the change but I was absolutely filled with joy.  I am excited about the new opportunities that are coming my way.  I am thankful to know my success does not have anything to do with a name.  It is who I am and how I run my business.  I am going to continue to be positive and believe I am prosperous and successful.  Most importantly I will continue to love what I do and help bring joy to those who want a part of the American Dream.  I am doing very well under my new company name, ERA Buckhead Realty.

Your life is what you make it and I choose to make my life AWESOME regardless of circumstances or situations.  You can either adjust to change and move forward with a positive attitude or you can stay in a rut.  So my question to you.  Is It In A Name Or Is It YOU?

Sonya,

I was managing broker some years back for CENTURY 21 Intown, and moved to an independent closer to home in Coweta County. In November, we became ERA United Realty and I have to tell you, I think ERA is even better than CENTURY 21!

I hope you come to appreciate the ERA band as much as I do, it's been great for business!

Sonya, you said it perfectly!  You will do well no matter the name.  I can see that in your posts.  It's all YOU!!

You are your business. So as long as you continue to be you, then it will be business as usual no matter what you call it. Look at a giant company like Verizon (can you hear me now?), not too long ago this same company was called Bell Atlantic (who?). Great post Sonya.

Sonya, it is such a pleasure to read that you are dealing with this change in such an upbeat and positive manner!  You will do well no matter where you are.  Change is hard sometimes, but it is inevitable.  Good luck and take care!

Century 21 is a reputable name...but after five years...you've most likely made a name for yourself and your loyal clients will follow you wherever you go!

Like most major franchises, both have name recognition. But as the agent you provide the service to the clients and customers. Most clients focus on the agent. Continue to provide good service and most of your clientele will stick with you.

Yes, the key is loving what you do and gaining joy in the results and blessing you bring to those you work for.  Good job Sonya, and thank you for commenting on my blog.  Lu

Good post Sonya, I think change will do us good. What I hope however is other agents from ERA post what they like or dislike about the company. I believe I will stay as well.

In the past year I converted as well, I have to say as long as you feel good about yourself, good will always come in your direction. In many shapes and forms, good luck to your new name.

I think in this business name has less to do with your success than how you handle yourself as a real estate professional. With your positive attitude you are bound to be successful!
