Just so you don't think I'm having too much fun here in Hawaii, let me tell you this was a Hella gruelling day.
Early morning: A closing in California went off without any last minute hitches.
Late morning and lunch: Drove to Kapolei on the west end of Oahu and met with some wonderful real estate professionals with whom I plan to partner on certain real estate transactions here in Hawaii.
Early afternoon: Drove to the Honolulu Board of Realtors office on the East side of Honolulu to purchase one of their latest Sentrilocks. Very impressive and very complicated. I signed up for a class tomorrow afternoon to learn all about it and the Sentrilock APP. It's a pretty complicated piece of machinery. Interesting fact: although we have Sentrilocks in California (I use them for my listings in Del Norte County) they must be older models. Nothing like this new baby. Or maybe I just haven't paid attention. DNAOR has their own set of lockboxes for use by agents; in Hawaii you have to purchase your own.
Mid to late afternoon: Met my client of my downtown Honolulu office condo listing on 1188 Bishop Street. We were talking about a lockbox for their door now that his tenant is moving out, but it turns out they have ADA compliant door handles on them. My new lock would just slip off the handle so I have to find a way to attach it. Need to go back to Home Depot to see what I can do about that.
Late afternoon: Stopped off at Macy's at the Ala Moana Shopping Center to get a quick makeover at the Chanel counter. Naturally, ended up buying a few items too. But, hey, I had a closing today so felt I could reward myself.
Sunset: Drove to the Aloha Tower Marketplace where the ships dock at the foot of downtown's Bishop Street. This is Wednesday and Jazz Night at Gordon Birsch. Met some friends there to talk about the state of the world.
Note: A lot of driving for one day for me, with in and out of 3 parking places ($7, $5 and $.75 on the expense account). Kapolei still does not have parking meters and Ala Moana Shopping Center has free parking.
Below is a photo of the One Waterfront Towers apartment complexes near Honolulu Harbor with a gorgeous rainbow pointing at one (the pot o' gold there?) and the outline of another one, that are seemingly just there in the sunshine, no rain in sight.
