Finding Hope and Healing~Ronald McDonald House in Austin
A while back I posted about helping Ronald McDonald make their “Wish List Come True!” Since then Gene has trekked to their facility offering a laundry list of items they can use and now will be volunteering. As an Ambassador for Ronald McDonald, Gene scheduled dates for our Coldwell Banker United NW office to take tours and our first one was today! What an eye opening experience for all of us.
For each person who visits and tours the facility a $50 contribution is made to the Ronald McDonald house. There were 8 of us today so they received $400 for our visit. Limiting tours to 8-10 are important so the disruption is minimal. Our next planned visit is August 13, 2015. Our Coldwell Banker NW Austin wants to make a difference in contributions and will continue to schedule tours and donate our time and resources.
They offer a “Home away from Home” for families outside of Austin whose children are receiving medical treatment at one of the nearby hospitals (75% of the patients at Dell’s Children’s Hospital). Offering a place to stay, sleep, eat and relax makes such a difference keeping families together to help kids heal and cope better. It’s important to get involved so Ronald McDonald can continue to comfort more families in need!
