The Transfiguration of Our Lord Russian Orthodox Church located in Ninilchik Alaska is the (number one) most photographed of any church in the whole state of Alaska.

 

Robert Alaska Bob Swetz aka Vegas Bob took some photographs in November 2014 of this old beautiful Russian Orthodox church.

Robert Swetz once again took some new photos of the church, only to find out from "Locals" that this church is the number one photographed church.

This beautiful Russian Orthodox Church was built in 1901, over 50 years before Alaska became the 49th state of the United States. And this church relaced an older one that was built before in the town of Ninilchik in 1846.

There is something very special about this beautiful church that keeps drawing Robert Swetz back.

And this could very well be because Robert Swetz's ancestors from his father's side are from Czech Republic, and parts of Russia.

Below is a very interesting photograph Robert Swetz took 7-15-2015.

And if you look real close, you can see rays of light shining down in streaks down upon the temple.

And also a (Green-Red) partial ring around the bottom of the temple, possibly a super-natural entity or spirit.

Great pictures. It looks like some Russians must haveremained in Alaska after the sale of Alaska to the US.  One technicality.  Alaska was purchased from Russia in the 1860's (for 7.2 million dollars.)  Alaska became a state in 1959.  For one year the US had a 49 star flag.  Hawaii became a state a few months after Alaska.
