Hi Kim.  That is great information.  Do you think they will ever raise the exemption amount?

Good morning Conrad Allen!

No, I don't see them ever raising the exemption amount since the last amendment was in 2012. Which brought the homestead exemption up to $50,000. The first $25,000 is entirely exempt and the second $25,000 is applied to the value between $50,000 and $75,000, but this portion doesn't include the school tax.

But we can always dream!!  Have a great Monday!!!

I didn't realize that the exemption was raised to $50,000.  We own property in Sarasota but it is a second home not the primary.  Thanks again.
