I'm sitting on my sofa and "feeling" the results of my first outting in my new kayak. I bet Donald is too. But it's not going to stop me from taking another adventure, maybe not tomorrow, but soon. Not sure I should have gone approximately 2 1/2 miles.

We've been talking about getting a kayak for a while and today was the day. We actually went to one of my listings. That point at the bottom right of my approximate path in the lake is right in front of one of my listings. I didn't take my phone. I wasn't sure I could stay upright the entire time. I did. But I've ordered a waterproof pouch I can wear so I can take take some photos next time we go out. I've also ordered a fit bit because I'd love to know how many calories I burned today.

But for now I'm going to get my tired and achey muscles into bed and hope it doesn't hurt too bad when I put my feet on the floor in the morning. Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be doing 15 or so miles on an outing. I'll keep you posted.

I believe kayak is the best think known to me in terms of exercise. I rent a kayak every time we go to Florida Keys. Where we live on the ocean, you can see them on the Intracoastal Waterway, but not on the ocean. Probably, too rough for kayaks...

My son bought a condo on the river (Intracoastal) and I am now thinking of getting a kayak and then abuse my self pretty much the way you did :)

That's great, Tammy. I love the idea of kayaking but I don't know if I'd ever actually do it. I've gone canoeing and rowboating and have gone out in a motorboat but haven't tried a sailboat, stand up paddleboard or kayak. It seems like a wonderful activity. I am looking forward to seeing photos that you will be taking. Have fun!

Actually in the Florida Keys it is a lot of fun. the waters in Florida Bay are very shallow, and boats only go where they have dug channels, and the rest of this vast space is sometimes is only a foot deep and you scrape the bottom, but life around you is abundant, and you see fish around you...

so....Tammy goes kayaking for the 1st time in a long time ....and she goes for 2.5 miles, where most people would have done a half mile.

Anyone surprised? Nope.

She's awful sore the nexy morning. Anyone surprised? Nope.

The surprise would only be if you weren't doing 15.5 miles by the end of the season, with a bunch of new friends on the other side of the shore.

This is great!

I've kayaked a few times, and you don't want to do it with me, because I spent my time telling the other people how to paddle and ended up making everyone go in circles. It wasn't my best day on the lake.
