Little disrupts a household more than when your four-legged critter is not up to par. You just want to do something to make them feel better, but since they can't talk to you about it or point to a place that is causing pain or discomfort, the best we can do is take them to the vet.
In my case, it involves stuffing a cat -- who suddenly becomes an octopus and acquires another four legs -- into a cat carrier where he does not want to go. Then listening to him scream bloody murder as I drive over the Causeway from Sacramento into Davis, hoping to God that no client will call me during that time period and have to listen to a cat caterwauling like he was being impaled with sharp daggers.
