Content is King. Video is a Must.
Website content always has been and always will be king. The new and very important addition to that is video. I’ve written several posts and created a few video tutorials about the value of using video to promote your business.
Video, when created, optimized and promoted correctly is a great way to stir up interest in your products and services. Here’s a few things you can do to get better results from your videos.
- Places to Promote – To be sure as many people as possible see your video, you need to promote it on as many resources as possible. The two obvious places are your website and blog. Less obvious is your social profile. Add it to your Facebook business page, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Add your video to YouTube, Slideshare and Vimeo.
As long as you have optimized your video with a keyword-rich title, description and tags, it will be easier to find in the search engines.
- Short Videos are Viewed More Often – What’s the first thing you look at before you start watching a video? If you’re like me, you look to see how long it is. If it’s over 3 minutes, I may have to save it to watch later.
Tutorials are expected to be longer. Chop those videos up into bite-sized pieces so they can be viewed in a chronological order. If the viewer doesn’t have time to watch the entire tutorial in one sitting, at least they’ll have a place to bookmark.
- You Don’t Have to Be All Things to All People – We’re all an expert in something. Luckily, for the subjects you’re not as familiar with, you can find someone else who is. Create a video of you interviewing someone whose profession is closely related to yours. For instance, ask an escrow officer questions about the escrow process. Or, interview a home inspector about why a home inspection is so important. Be sure to give them credit at the end of the video.
- Other People’s Videos – If you’re short on time or would like to create your video library quickly and easily, take a look at a service called, Fast Forward Stories. They provide a large library of real estate topics that are branded to your business. They’re super simple to add as an interesting video component to your website or blog.
Content is King. Video is a Must. Search engines are paying a lot of attention to video. Creating and promoting video on your website, blog, social media and networks will drive more traffic your way and set you apart from your competition.
