When you work with a real estate agent, they have the ability to change your life. I know you may think that sounds silly but we help people through difficult times every day. Today was one of those days.
A few months back, we were contacted by a dear friend. His father's health was failing and it had become necessary to move his parents closer to family. It's difficult for adult children as they see their parents change and become dependent upon them for assistance.
When his mother called, she shared that her son had referred her to us because we were 'the best'. That was a very nice thing for her son to say. We felt privileged to help his parents with the process of relocating to Franklin.
They traveled from Florida in May and we began the home search. As luck would have it, not much was on the market that suited their needs. Just as we had given up hope, a new listing entered the market. It was much smaller than they wanted but the location was good and it was close to amenities. We submitted our offer quickly and were able to come to a meeting of the minds.
As we neared the closing date, we learned there was a cloud on the title. We gave the seller several opportunities to rectify the situation but after a few frustrating weeks, opted out of the contract. Fortunately, another property had just re-entered the market after a deal had fallen through. We rushed over to see it and had it under contract that night.
After two months and two different houses, this couple closed on their home today. This move will put them within a few miles of their son and daughter-in-law and their grandchildren. Mrs. Buyer will now have family close enough to help her care for her ailing husband as his disease progresses.
As I spoke with her tonight, she said a tearful thank you. She was so happy to know that assistance will be so close. As we said our good-byes, she spoke the sweetest words I will ever hear a buyer say, "Thank you again, Tammie. Love you!".
