Judi,

MK and I certainly enjoyed your visit on Friday in Lake Charles.  We just may have to find a home similar to this one, since it is under contract.  We can do that, you know.

Derenda,

Yes, I know you can do that for me!  :)  I'll let you know when we're ready.  Not for a while yet.  Don's not ready to leave his job yet and I'm not ready yet either.  Might want to look at some nice lots to buy and maybe build a house when/if we decide to move to Lake Charles.

Judi,

We just want to make sure you know that we are ready to assist at a moments notice.  It would take very little to set the "plan" into action.  You have discovered how dangerous MK and I can be.  Can you imagine what the three of us could accomplish?  That could be something to behold.

Derenda,

Yes, I know you and MK can find a lot or a house for us within a few moments.  I'm not sure where I want to live in Lake Charles.  We are interested in looking at some nice lots in nice subdivisions the next time we're home.  Not sure where to tell you to look though.  We'll have to make that decision later.  It may be that we need to look at areas both in North Lake Charles and South.  I do know I want to be in a subdivision and not isolated.  We looked at some areas around Moss Bluff, Gillis and Topsy and they were a little too isolated for Miss City Girl here.  :)

Derenda,

As a matter of fact, yes, I can imagine what the three of us could accomplish!!!  Certainly would be something to behold!!!    :)    I was thinking about it all weekend.  Guess we were thinking the same thing.

Judi,

YES!!  I read that,  See I did not check out yet.  You are thinking about it too.  WE COULD BE DANGEROUS.   Just keep thinking.

Hi Derenda, just checking in.  You might want to put an up-date on this post letting everyone know it is SOLD!!!

I was on your site last night, looking at houses and lots in and around Lake Charles.  Just checking it out. . . not ready to move back just yet.    :)

Hi Judi,

I am a combination of superstitious on just this one topic and feel it is not in my client's best interest to make assumptions.  We simply announce to other interested individuals that the property is "Under Contract" and ask for their information should that status change.  I had one contract this year change, due to the lender (who had promised the Buyer was more than qualified for 3 weeks) fall apart on the day of closing.  It was one more requirement that they had thought to ask for, that the Buyer could not provide and they refused to loan the funds "THE DAY OF CLOSING".  I do not advertise them as "SOLD" until the closing ink is dry and the transaction has been filed at the court house.

I think it may be a little more of my suspicious/healthy pesimism than superstition.  The market in our are is healthy in every way other than that of the lending industry.  You cannot count on their pre approval of a loan.  Just because they say someone is capable of purchasing a home, does not mean it will talke place.  You learn who you can trust and how to function in each area, but for me this seems to work best.  As of NOW, we are scheduled to cllose on this one Friday, June 13th, at 10:00 AM.  Not that this should make anyone nervous.  HA!  I do have a back up to call on this one, if needed.  The system works, especially when there is a shortage of quality homes in a specific price range.

Derenda, I agree with your "superstition/suspicious/healthy pessimism attitude.  I never assume a property is SOLD until funding.  Once had one "close" and never fund.  Suddenly, "they" realized that the back right corner of the property was in the flood plain and the lender now required flood insurance.  The buyer couldn't qualify any longer with the added expense.

I knew this property was Under Contract and mistakenly "assumed" that it had already closed.  Good Luck on the closing -- hope everything goes as planned.  Yeah, I noticed we have a Friday the 13th this month!  I apologize for "Assuming".

Judi,

You are so right about the Friday the 13th.  What nut-cake would schedule to close then.  HA!  I truly am not a superstitious person.  It does not bother me.  I just find it that many are and I am surprised that this fellow has asked to close then.

Judi,

Thank you.  If you only knew the half.  We had issues that took constant "tataing".  I cannot describe in the blog, but it was an adventure that I was not sure until the ink dried what would happen.

Derenda, oh, I hate those -- had one recently too.  Everything was going smoothly and then wham -- disaster hit.  We got it closed but. . . oh my, I don't even want to remember the stress!

Glad you got it closed.  As you know, I've wanted that house since I first saw it on your blog.  If it had fallen thru, I might have convinced myself it was time to move back home!   hehehehe

Judi,

Oh Heck, If I had known that, I might have felt different.  I might have helped it some.  I will find you one just like it if not better.  Just say the word.  We have some great houses over here.

Rain, I love it.  I always have.  My favorite Cousin, who was an adult when I was very young would come to visit every time it rained.  His job would cease due to the rain.  I was not aware why, I just knew my favorite person would come when it rained.  Thus through my life Rain has always seemed to bring me "Good Luck" so to speak.  It is like a blessing or christening of deeds.  Love it.  I am a peace when it rains.  That is probably far more than you wanted to know about my opinion on rain. HA!

Derenda, what a nice, refreshing thought about a Rainy Day or Week.  The more I know you, the more I like you.  It was my lucky day when you joined Active Rain and I got to meet someone from my hometown.

But, shame on you, you keep tempting me with this house.  Good thing someone bought it.

Hope things are going well in Lake Charles after Hurricane Ike's visit.  My brother got 6" of water in his house -- how are your repairs coming along?

Hi Judi,

Say a prayer for me.  The Insurance adjuster comes today and I am a nervous wreck.  I have heard so many night mare tales and our phone conversation was not exactally stellar.  I am worried to say the least.  From what I am hearing they are really trying to give everyone down here the "shaft".  I do not understand.  They have pored money after money into New Orleans without even thinking about it and we cannot even get someone to give us an honest shake down here.  It does not make sense.  I am just sick.

Derenda, my prayers are with you and everyone else down there.  My brother's meeting with a "FEMA" adjuster (who was from Maine) did not go well -- I won't go into the details here.  The last time I talked to him, there was a second adjuster coming by.  Haven't heard how that meeting went.

8:34am • #29

Judi,

That is what I am hearing from most everyone.  I am waiting.  I will let you know how it goes.  All I can do is to Pray.  It seems they want to socialize everyone.  You don't need to put it back the way it was.  Just put it back livable, the way most people have it.

Derenda,  from what my brother told me, the adjuster was very rude, when they discussed repairs my brother made to his home after Hurricane Rita and my brother told him what repairs he had completed, the adjuster, "found it hard to believe" that my brother had made the repairs he had with the money he rec'd from FEMA and his Insurance Co.  Of course, my brother did most of the work himself to make the money go farther and was just finishing the repairs.  The adjuster seemed more interested in telling my brother that he needs to move than worrying about the damages to his home.  Geez, I'm glad I wasn't there!!!
