Movie Tavern will be taking over the location of the previous United Artists theater in Citiplace and is expected to open by the end of Summer 2015. If you haven't had a Movie Tavern experience before, you are in for a real treat! I had the opportunity to visit a Movie Tavern in Houston a couple of years ago and loved it. Movie Tavern is a fusion between a restaurant and a movie theater. After you have purchased your ticket, you will notice a bar straight ahead. I love this idea, because some times I get to the theater a little early, either to wait for a friend or because I wanted to make sure I snagged a ticket before they sell out. With the bar being inside the theater, you are able to order some appetizers and drinks while you wait. Once you enter the theater where your movie will be showing, you will notice long tables with individual chairs. The chairs are much like comfortable computer chairs. Right away you will be greeted by a waiter or waitress who will hand you a full menu. On this menu you will find everything from chips and queso to buffalo wings, burgers, wraps, sandwiches and side items. There is also a full beverage menu which includes cocktails, wine and beer. Each seating has a switch that you instructed to turn on when you need assistance such as a drink refill. I just love this whole concept and I think you will too. I am amazed by how fast our city is growing and can't wait to see what other exciting new businesses will be coming next.
