Ask an Ambassador - Why Should I Invite Others to Join?
This is a topic I hear members question so I am going to address both sides of the issue. We that are here in ActiveRain love it. We have made friends and enjoy keeping up with each other. If you log on and read, there is not a day that goes by that you don't learn something.
Most of us blog for business and are seeing results, real results from our efforts. That is what brought many of us to the Rain. The idea exchange and the friendships are the bonus we did not expect when we signed up. So why should you invite others to Join?
Why You Should Invite.....
- A strong network has lasting power
- The more activity we have the more we will get picked up by the search engines
- More members means more really good bloggers or at least the potential
- More bloggers means more valuable information will be shared
- More people in more areas to send to exchange referrals
- You can expand your Following list and establish more connections and friendships
- New members bring in income for the ownership. There needs to be a good ROI
- ActiveRain members are the best in the industry, more professional, business minded
- It means more fun and having more choices of what to read
- More choices means better chances to find ideas to grow and perfect your business/life
- Someone new to the industry gains valuable information and support to help them last
- The invited member that accepts and gets it, will thank you
- You will be rewarded with points when they accept and every time they participate
Why Not to Invite.....
- You have tried before and they don't accept
- You have had some accept but they didn't do anything with it
- Why bother, let them find it on their own
- You don't want your competition knowing how great it is
- You don't want the additional competition in your market area
- It's not your job, you are too busy to care
If you read both lists you see the first list is for the good and growth of the network. With the ups and downs of the last few years we want ActiveRain to be strong and lasting and to bring new and exciting things to the membership. Without a good strong membership ownership has to evaluate the effectiveness of its existence.
The Why Nots are about you. Can't you find someone you think is worthy of an invite? Maybe you invited someone and the timing wasn't right for them. Try again. Talk to them about it. It doesn't have to be someone in your area. It could be someone you have sent a referral, someone you know in the industry in another town. How about your home inspector, 
decorator, pest control company, business coach, property manager, builder, insurance agent, vendor or banker?
If they are connected in some way to the real estate industry they could be a good fit and it doesn't have to be the rival in your town or office. Who do you know that would appreciate an invite?
How do you invite? Go to your Home Page and on the left side menu find the Invite Others tab and click and send an email to invite. Putting in a personal note with your invite also helps. Let the person know to be checking for the invite and that sometimes the invites go to spam. How easy is that?
Still don't want to invite others to join? No Problem, you are loved and welcomed and are valuable to the Rain.
