You should know that a real estate broker can sell real estate at auction in Illinois without having to have an Auctioneer's License. Just remember that the Broker can not sell any personal property; however, selling real property by auction is already covered by the Illinois Real Estate Licensing Act of 2000 (225 ILCS 454/). In Illinois we also have the Auction License Act (225 ILCS 407/) wchich governs the auction business:
Real Estate License Act of 2000 (225 ILCS 454/1‑10)
(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2010)
Sec. 1‑10. Definitions. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires:

If you want to see more information about selling real estate at auction there is an Auction tab on our website and more info there.
