Some Days You Just Gotta Kick Up Your Heels
A friend of mine asked me to come out with a group last night to go see one of our favorite bands (Hot Posse) and kick up our heels. After a long couple months of non-stop work, this sounded like the thing to do!
The nightclub was not in the best part of town, but with my husband and the rest of the group, I wasn’t too worried. My outfit consisted of white eyelet shorts, cowgirl boots, a vest and a tank top. Getting too hot while dancing is never fun so I thought this would keep me cool.
When we pulled up, there were motorcycles everywhere. If I had known this, I could have worn leather shorts and chains. I was a little worried walking in, but everyone was actually nice to me. They all had their tattoos, bandanas, chaps and riding boots. They were having some kind of an auction which ended about 15 minutes before the band was to start. As soon as the last trinket was auctioned off, the place cleared out. You would have thought it was thundering outside, but it was actually the sound of many bikes purring before their exit.
It felt good to get out and let my hair down, and I really didn’t get in too much trouble. Today, however, I am paying the price with sore feet!
