Success Can Take You to a Fork In the Road

“Success can make you go one of two ways. It can make

you a prima donna or it can smooth the edges,

take away the insecurities and let the

nice things come out.”

Barbara Walters, Author, Journalist, Television Personality

As I see it . . . . . . .

Success can take you to a fork in the road

And the path you choose to follow . . . . will have a major impact on your future and your future success.

Success is not a single event . . . . It’s the result of consistent effort over time to achieve your goals.

As you climb the mountain of success you will reach a plateau where you can rest . . . . and regroup before you resume your journey. The plateau can become a comfort zone . . . . and you can decide that the comfort zone is safer then getting back on the mountain . . . . to continuing your journey.

As you resume your climb up the mountain . . . . there may be more than one path to the top. One that you will leave your footprints on . . . . that those who follow you would want to follow in. On the other path it appears that with a few short cuts you could appear to get to the top a little quicker.

Success can take you to a fork in the road. It’s not the fastest route to the top . . . . that’s as important as who you are when you reach the top . . . . and in how you have treated people on your climb to the top.

I have a seen a lot of people that choose the wrong route after they have acheived success and they don't seem as happy as one would think they should be.

Lou, It is so important to treat folks the way you want to be treated on the way up and on the way down. I do like the Barbara Walters quote and she makes an excellent point.

I think that is why it is so important to think both now, but also long term. Make all decisions based on how it will look on you years from now and weeks from now.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
