Lorain - Ely Enterprises Moving to Lorain OH

Great News in Lorain! Ely Enterprises is moving to Lorain. I was excited when my friend, Jane K @ a local title company emailed this news to me. Lorain County has been struggling with job losses, along with businesses closing or moving elsewhere - so it's great to get news of a company coming into our county.

According to an article written by Scot Allyn, for the Morning Journal in Lorain, he tells us that Ely Enterprises has outgrown its building in Cleveland & is moving to the former Lakeland Enterprises Building at 3809 Broadway, Lorain OH.

Ely Enterprises is a distributor of industrial recycling equipment, supplying new and refurbished equipment used in scrap yards & recycling centers. Currently Ely Enterprises employs approx 20 workers, anticipating adding more later down the road.

Hi Carla! Nice to see the locals around and keeping up with the area. Ely Enterprises moving into Lorain is good news. I certainly hope that the "powers that be" can be a little more aggressive with their policies in attracting some new businesses, especially in the vacated areas of Broadway before the Charleston Historic District. It's hard to look at all of those boarded up and empty buildings. Take care.

Yes Matthew, I just drove down Broadway this past weekend & it is, indeed sad, to see abandonded buildings there. I was glad to hear Lorain City Council granted the rezoning from general business to light industrial for this Lakeland Property. We need more businesses to come back! What was also a sweet deal for the city was the fact Ely Enterprises did not seek a tax abatement from the city of Lorain. Again, sounds like a win-win for all parties involved! - Carla
