Many people think that in order to network with other people they must become a member at a networking group such as BNI, Successful Thinkers, eWomen, or any other groups.
This is not the case.
Every day we come across networking opportunities. Its up to us what we do with them.
Whether you are in the grocery store in-line or you stop in to pay your insurance bill, you run into people who know other people who would be a great connection for you.
Networking is all about connecting with others. I have been involved with the Chamber of Commerce Mixers, Board of Realtors Meetings, Leads groups, and Networking Groups. I can attend a different group three times a day, every day of the week. However, unless I learn to connect I will not be making a difference.
However, this post isn’t about connecting but instead about different networking events that are available to each of us every day.
Here is a list of my favorite places to meet people and network.
- Grocery Store
- Starbucks
- My son’s school
- Chamber of Commerce
- Fundraising events
- Big Brother, Big Sister Events
- Make A Wish Foundation Events
- Rotary Group
- Church
- My office
I am sure you can think of places that are your favorites for meeting others. Remember though that the magic of networking happens when you take it a step further and meet one-on-one. Build relationships after meeting new people.
Where are your favorite places to meet new people to network with?
