An Excellent Way of Keeping The Santa Barbara Brand Alive & Well!

We had an appointment on Coast Village Rd which some identify as Montecito/really in Santa Barbara, one of the Santa Barbara County communities known for it great school districts and movie stars who have homes there.  This Mazerati beauty caught our attention.

It is also home to many estates and magnificent views of the ocean and the mountains.  Living is the City of Montecito means that there are additional taxes to be paid for the prestige of living there.

We were parked in Santa Barbara on Coast Village Road which technically is the demarkation line between the City of Santa Barbara and Montecito.  Santa Barbara city includes all the beaches and beach front streets on the coast.   It is one of those interesting quirks that keeps the Santa Barbara brand alive and well.

That sleek vehicle is eye grabbing for sure Ron and Alexandra! My sons would be oohing and ahhing over it for sure. I love being a tourist and shopping at the beachfront stores when visiting the coast.

Good morning A & R. Love the street scene and even the car. I remember the ocean views as we drove the coastline. Our trip to that area was very special.

Good morning, Alexandra and Ron --- while the car is beautiful it doesn't quite compare with the architecture that is the backdrop in your photo that, for me, is a big part of the Santa Barbara brand.

Michael Jacobs I agree with you..From the LA point of view, most people think of Montecito as the desirable place to live, like most of the US thinks Beverly Hills and Malibu when it comes to So Cal.  Way back when, Santa Barbarba, the city drew the border lines by making sure they kept the best parts from Montecito to Goleta, so that the 4-10 blocks off the beach are in the SB are part of SB.  Nationwide and globally everyone knows Santa Barbara, they don't know Montecito, and yet a Montecito home is more expensive than an equal Santa Barbara home...with the ocean view, etc...LOL  A

I am happy with my SUV but that car is a beauty.  Haven't been to the beach this year, still time maybe after school starts we will head to a beac.

Funny the whole "car thing".  This is a nice looking car but I would never have known it was anything special. Just another silver, small car to me, LOL!

Tammie White I hear you, and I agree with you, but the psychographics of Montecito includes showy cars, alphabet soup purses, lots of bling, nannies, taking kids to schooletc...not Santa Barbara.  This of course, is just this part of the community, the other two parts are completely different.  Got to love all of them, they keep the economy and the work force busy.  A

I just came home from Walmart.  I didn't see a single Mazerati parked in the parking lot!  What's up with that?
