How to Make $100,000 - A Book Review

By
Real Estate Agent with Remax First Realty II 0790808

We've attended several of Darryl Davis's workshops and enjoy much of what he reads. Even though we're not new agents, we keep a copy of How to Make $100,000+ Your First Year as a Real Estate Agent in our office.

If you haven't read How to make $100,000, there's a lot of great info in the book.

There's advice for the new agent:

  • "Set a High CAP" where C stands for Confidence, A stands for Aggressiveness, and P stands for Persistence.
  • Choosing the right agency. Davis talks about the types of brokerages, how splits and desk fees are determined, and gives great questions to ask during the interview.

But the reason we love the book is the great dialogues:

  • Dialogues to convert FSBOs to listings
  • Dialogues to convert expired listings to new listings
  • Dialogues to call around open houses and recently sold houses.

The overall theme of the book is prospecting - how to do it, why to do it, and, most importantly, how to get past the fear of rejection while prospecting. While intended for first year agents, even experienced agents can use a fresh perspective on prospecting.

It would be nice to make 100k in your first year in real estate. I remember I made nothing , lol. If you are a new agent, you usually expect this job to be easy but it actually require a lot of planning and work;)
