Wanted to touch on another issue that has come into play with a number of burglaries: Doggy doors. An unsecured doggy door has basically the same as a unlocked front door or window. Burglars will often access the house through the doggy door, or they will reach through the doggy door and unlock the main door. If you have a doggy door, or if you are thinking about installing one, please make sure that it is locked just like any door or window when you are not at home. If you own a property with a Doggy door that is no longer in use, consider sealing it up or removing the door.
Stright from the Tucson Police department is the following advice: whether or not a person who witnesses this type of activity can legally take a picture of a suspect. The answer is yes, you can. A person has no reasonable expectation of privacy to their image when they are out in public in plain view. So, feel free to snap a picture or video of the activity and send it to the police department.
