Lake Superior, A Great Place for a Summer Forestry Project.
We have been working hard in the Stevens Point, Central and Western Wisconsin areas lately and though cooler than many parts of the country it has been too hot still.
So it was nice to finalize an agreement today with a long term client from Michigan's Upper Peninsula on a project that should take us most of the month of August.
This is the time to be in the UP of Michigan, when every other part of the lower 48 are suffering from extreme heat, the deep cold waters of Lake Superior act like a natural air conditioner. There will still be bugs, but at least one of the irritations of summer, the heat, will be reduced.
The project will be an inventory of a block of land in the Heron Mountains, one of my favorite places.
And the land is owned by one of the nation’s largest private timberland owners, another of my favorites.
It should be a very good project, and everyone involved is excited.
For the project and for the break from summer.
