Infographics are becoming more and more popular. Wikipedia describes infographics as graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly. There are several sites where you can create your own infographics: infogr.am.com, visual.ly.com, mashable.com and Piktochart.com to name a few. I’ve been using Piktochart and once you get the hang of it, it’s quite easy to use. Anita Clark gave me the nudge to give them a try last year!
You can create infographics that are creative and informative in 3 easy steps:
1. Choose the color and style of your background
2. find the element you want to insert on the menu
3. drag and drop it into your canvas and let your imagination go wild
There are a number of font styles to choose from, maps and you can add your own photos from your computer to enhance your infographics.
They have over 400 of their own templates for you to choose from - including some that are free to start out with. Add to that by saving your own infographics – then just go back and edit when needed! Save your infographic as a .jpeg or a .pdf depending on what you want to do with it.
