National Root Beer Float Day - August 6
Really? A National Root Beer Float Day? O.K.
Hot summer days and root beer floats bring back memories of summers past. Visits to A & W restaurants weren't all that frequent growing up and they fell into the category of very special treats. Back then we visited A & W "drive-ins" and they were quite popular with teenagers driving up in their parents' cars. I'm glad to see that this refreshing summer treat is still popular.
Stopping by your nearest A & W on Sunday, August 6th will reward you with a free & frosty root beer float. While you are at it you might want to donate to the Disabled American Veterans.

If you simply can't wait for National Root Beer Float Day because just the thought of it has you in a frenzy, you can make a classic root beer float at home.
Here is a tip. Add the ice cream to the root beer. (If you do it in the opposite manner, you are likely to have quite a mess!)
