Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds ,you can grow flowers,or you can grow weeds. That's a quote. I have no idea who said it but it's a pretty apt metaphor for my mind and my garden. At the moment, both places are growing both.
I just paid an exorbitant amount of money to have most of my property weeded. I've been very busy working and the garden has gotten away from me. I like to do inside the pool fence and I usually pay someone to do the rest, but this spring no one did anything and I tried. I really did try. The weeds and the flowers overwhelmed me. The garden everywhere looks much better today, now that the weeds are gone, and unfortunately, a lot of the flowers that the landscape company took for weeds are gone as well. Oh well, in the grand scheme of things, it was just too overgrown here.
Inside the pool fence is another story completely and it's a jungle out there. Inside my mind... It's a jungle in there!
I do my best and work really hard at staying upbeat. It's been a challenging year for me in a lot of areas and the weeds in my mind at times overwhelm me almost as much as the weeds in my garden. I have a lot of things to be thankful for and these are the things I try to concentrate on when I become too mindful of the weeds.
My word today is weeds. What's your word of the day?
