The mild and dry climate at an elevation of 4,597 feet provides some of the best golfing on the Western Slope. There are 5 public golf courses and one private course in Grand Junction.

This is a 9 hole course in the heart of Downtown Grand Junction. You can get in 9 holes after work and it is an easy course to walk for seniors. For someone new to golf it is a great place to learn or sharpen your skills for the more experienced golfer. The course is open seasonally, dawn to dusk, it is a municipal course built in 1926. Tee times are in advance, there is a dress code, only non-metal spikes allowed and there are 7 sand bunkers with some water hazards. Amenities include chipping area, clubhouse, driving range, golf cart rental, golf lessons, clubhouse, pro shop, practice greens and sand practice.
Directions: I-70 to Horizon Drive exit, go west on Horizon, south on the 12th street roundabout. Continue on 12th St. past the college to Gunnison Ave. At Gunnison Avenue turn left and take 1st left off Gunnison, then an immediate right into the parking lot.
Adobe Creek National Golf Course - 876 18 1/2 Road, Fruita 970-858-0521
Adobe Creek is a 27 hole championship course with 3 separate 9 hole courses that all connect to the spacious clubhouse. Adobe Creek has the spectacular Colorado National Monument as its backdrop. The course was built in 1993 and is owned by Wilson Golf Group.
There is a Pro-Shop, lounge, dining area and facilities available for banquets and tournaments. Rental clubs are available and pull or powered carts. Open year-round weather permitting.
Directions: I-70 west to exit 19 Fruita. Follow the signs to tourist information center and then turn east on Frontage Road, drive 1.5 miles to 18 1/2 Road, turn right (south) and go 1/2 mile to entrance.
Tiara Rado Golf Course - 2057 S. Broadway, Grand Junction (970)254-3830
A beautiful and scenic course located at the base of the Colorado National Monument. The red cliffs tower overhead and the scenery could be a distraction to your game! Tiara Rado is an 18 hole municipal course with a club house, restaurant, Pro-Shop and driving range. Tiara Rado also has golf cart and golf club rental, golf lessons, practice greens, sand practice and chipping area.
Directions: Take I-70 to exit 28, go south for 5.5 miles.
Chipeta Golf Course - 222 29 Road, Grand Junction (970) 245-7177
Chipeta is a premier 18 hole, executive course in Orchard Mesa, which is 5 miles south of downtown. Chipeta doesn't disappoint with the picturesque views of the Grand Mesa, Bookcliffs, Uncompahgre Plateau and Colorado National Monument. Chipeta has a full driving range, practice area, twin tennis courts and just opened a Foot-Golf course. This is a great venue with a wedding garden and the clubhouse is available for receptions, reunions, business events and family outings.
Directions: From downtown Grand Junction follow signs to U.S. Highway 50 south to Delta. About 1/2 mile past the Mesa County Fairgrounds, which is 3 miles from downtown, turn left (north) on 29 Road. Drive about 3/4 of a mile to the entrance.

Redlands Mesa is surrounded by the beauty of the Colorado National Monument. There is one course with 18 holes and open year-round (weather permitting). The course was designed by Jim Engh, built in 2001, and is surrounded by luxurious homes. It is a public and semi-private course and ADA compliant. Redlands Mesa has a clubhouse, restaurant, chipping area, driving range, golf cart rental, golf lessons, Pro-Shop, practice greens and practice sand. Perhaps Golf Digest sums up the course best, “Positioned beneath the slopes of jagged buttes south of Grand Junction, Colorado, in the shadow of the towering pink and red sandstone face of the Colorado National Monument, Redlands Mesa is like playing golf along the bottom of the Grand Canyon, with a couple of sojourns to the Garden of the Gods thrown in.
Directions: I-70 to Redlands Parkway/24 Road exit going south. Travel approximately 3.4 miles to Broadway. Turn left on Broadway and travel approximately 1.9 miles, turning right on to Ridges Boulevard. Go 2 miles to Shadow Lake. Bear Right up hill to the Golf Club.
