Tuesday Travelogue-August 4th
Welcome to the ongoing weekly series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our fifty-seventh week! Each week, some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:
" to enjoy the ride"
"take a trip without even leaving the farm"
"expand your horizons"
"see through someone else's eyes"
and hopefully much more!
We are on our alphabetical trip across America. Today we will check out Rhode Island!
I had no idea that little Rhode Island had such a BIG blast until I read Ginny Gorman's localism post! It happened on a beach in Providence, RI...and I'll guarantee you this is not what you've ever seen or heard of on any beach you've been to!!
We now head to a past MeetUp in East Greenwich RI...who knew there was so much going on in this little state? I didn't, did you?? They were hosting to honor Scott Hayes (from Texas) at Bistro 9 thanks to Ginny Gorman and George Suto, who wrote the post. Lots of recognizable faces here (except for Ed Silva who went undercover for the occasion).
Fun Things to Do on a Rainy Day in Newport RI, that's the kind of localism post that gets my attention! Thank you, Allison Bernard! (The National Museum of American Illustration is just one place she suggests....)
Well, I guess with Rhode Island it's about the PEOPLE and even though I'm showing a boat (as Karen Hurst explains about that in the beginning),
this post is about those people that Karen (from Warwick, Rhode Island) came to be close to in ActiveRain and her post is very thoughtful and thought-provoking. Nine years and lots of changes with ActiveRain! She wrote this in April this year, just before Ben Kinney took over the helm, and it was featured. I would love to see her take on things now!
Please don't forget to comment on these blogposts and I hope that you enjoyed all of these virtual travels. Feel free to join our group:
