Last year I believe it was. Gayle wrote a blog on her stay here at the Prospect Hotel Bed and Breakfast.

Prospect is about 28 miles from Crater Lake. If you don't know anything about Crater Lake you might want to Google it, as I might not get around to blogging on it anytime soon.

Crater Lake Lodge is usually booked a year in advance so that made Prospect Hotel a logical plan.

We arrived after a long day of driving and exploring around Crater Lake. We had a great time chatting with others on the porch out front, before bedtime. We passed on dinner in the restaurant as we were full from Marion berry pie from Becky's down the road.

After a great nights rest we had a nice breakfast that was included and reluctantly moved on. Gayle was "spot on" recommending this place!

Gayle is the Fishawk Lake specialist that blogs almost daily. Besides "following" her I had the chance to see her at an Active Rain meetup!

Rob, you sneaky devil, putting this out there--yikes! I am quite the particular traveler and diner, if you will, and so I don't put my stamp of approval on things lightly. I am THRILLED that you enjoyed yourselves, you and your deserving (and hardworking) wife! Did you get to any of the walking trails nearby? Some are very close and great for photo ops. I thought the staff was so welcoming and full of great info. Too bad you didn't have dinner, it was leisurely and delightful. Hope the breakfast was, at least. You must have stayed inside the hotel, right? We had a small room that was dog-friendly in another building. Nothing to rave about, but hey, we could have them with us, so we were good with that!

It's always a crapshoot when you suggest something and someone you care about follows your lead, you can only hope that it works out like it did for you! (You ought to do a TripAdvisor review. I do those all of the time and people like Kathy Streib pay attention to those reviews. That's where I have found reliable places to stay or eat.)

Gayle. Yes we stayed in the Muir room on the top floor (one of 2) that has air conditioning! We did do the trails and saw the water falls. We did NOT get a chance in the swing on the porch, it was a popular place! Breakfast was great! Thankyou again!

Tammy: You need to come see her, then plan me I'm on the Oregon coast about 4 hours from her. Plan a couple days to get from here tome tho and see what Oregon has.
