Hi everybody and welcome to Prime Time !

If you are reading this you have joined the Group. Now all you need to do is add your Contest Article to the Group. Here's how:

  • Go to you blog entry and click on EDIT
  • At the bottom, where all the categories are, you will see a list of any Groups you are a member of. Check the box labeled "Prime Time". Now it will be included here.
  • If you do not want your Article to show up in the normal ActiveRain blog list, you need to post the entry from this Group. In other words, if you want your article to be invisible to anyone not a member of Prime Time until after the judging is over, you must post it here and not on your normal blog space.

Mark,  OK I'm in I edited a post I had about Billy Graham. It is humor and I do not know if it belongs here. But I thought it was hilarious at the time. If it does not belong let me know and I will edit it out.

Doug, All submissions are welcome. The winners will be based on the criteria in the orginal post. Not becasue of a particular subject. I'm hoping that a contest like this will get some folks excited about writing again, and others interested in writing as a new blogger. The other goal is to inprove the number of high quality posts being published on ActiveRain. Your post is welcome and I will add you to the Roll Call!

UPDATE -- Doug, I just took a look at the Billy Graham article. You posted it in December, so it doesn't qualify. Please read the guidelines in the original post. Thanks Mark

Mark, sorry but I need help.  I'm not very familiar with how the groups function. I'm already a member of this one, but what does this mean?:   "you need to post the entry from this Group. In other words, if you want your article to be invisible to anyone not a member of Prime Time until after the judging is over, you must post it here and not on your normal blog space."  How do I post from this group?  I've never posted to any of the 2 I belong to.

Thanks in advance.  You're the best!

Maggie, sorry about that. My description was not clear. Here's how it works.

When you click on  a group you are a member of, you are directed to the page that lists all the posts in that group. At the top is a blue button that reads "Post to Group". If you write a post, using that button, the post only shows up in the group. It does not show up with the regular blog posts.

The nice thing about it is you can keep a post private within a group. The drawback is that it will not be Featured outside of the group and it will receive fewer comments and notice. The only members that can see the post are the members of that group.

The reason I mentioned it was for people that may want to enter the contest, but are shy about posting.

Mark, thanks.  I get it now!  And that was thoughtful of you to think of folks' shyness.  I'll keep it within this group for now.  If I can decide on something to write about, that is.

How does one win this contest? I also see more that one post per person. Is that an option? Thanks!

Multiple blogs?  Is this allowed , or is it one per person - perhaps after submittal - the person chooses the one they 'want'?  I submitted right away to get the ball rolling.......and I'm 'happy' with my blog.  Hopefully it results in people churning their grey matter.

Ah, screw it - on second thought as I type this - isn't this really trying to get really good blogs some exposure?  I have no problem with multiple blogs.  But it's not my 'contest'.

Hey, Rob and and Sheron.  You are the night owls!  This question was asked earlier in his original post and Mark limited the posts to 2 (his comment below).  So now you can put your insomnia to good use and write another article.  As for me, I'm going to bed!  :)

"Chris B: Good question. Let's limit it to two. The contest is only for 1 week. I'll add it to the rules. thx"

Sorry for the delay folks. Yesterday was a bit of a zoo!

Betsy: thanks for catching that. Yes, we are limiting submissions to 2.

Rob: You hit the nail right on the head "trying to get really good blogs some exposure"! That is it exactly. Write one article or write two. Go back and edit the article if you wish. The final version will be the one that gets judged. The whole point of this contest is to raise the bar, if we can. I believe we can!

I won't be surprised at all if every post in this contest is of "Feature" quality. Competition can be a great motivator. It pushes us to excel. Every one of you knows that you are competing with other good articles. That should help improve the quality.

One thing you can be certain of; the entire network is watching this contest. Win or lose, the participants will get noticed. There has never been a contest like this on ActiveRain.

Sheron: the best advice I can give you is to read the criteria carefully. Also look at the comments and my answers to them, from Toby Barnett. He asked about struggling with a worthy idea.
