Haiku Market grand opening - new owners, same great place
We recently had a change of ownership at the local Haiku Market, in downtown Haiku Maui. This little grocery store has been growing up and filling out over the past 14 years or so, with a great selection of items. The expansion and remodeling paid off, and they were bought out by the company that owns Foodland grocery stores here in Hawaii. But you won't be seeing the Foodland sign over the door... it will stay Haiku Market.
I was there on opening day, with the shelves packed and the friendly staff all smiling and offering help. It's going to be a great place to shop for food and everyday things.

The meat selection offers a lot of locally produced grass fed beef, and other local favorites like teriaki beef, oxtail, and lau laus.
A bountiful display of veggies, fruits, and local produce.
I see they have a whole aisle of wines, making this the best place to buy vino on the north shore.
Lots of junk food of course, but what a selection! And look at those shiny floors.
No Maui grocery store would be complete without some SPAM musubi! The poke bar is coming soon, and if it's anything like Foodland, it will be worth a stop just for that.
Haiku Maui is really getting popular, but it's still not crowded. There's plenty of room for everybody! We love it in Haiku.
