Hi Nina Hollander , The Newcomers club is a great venue.  We don't have anything like that around here, but should.

Hi Larry Johnston ~ as I wrote, Charlotte's Club has been around for almost 50 years long before it was the huge destination city it is today.

Robert (Bob) Gilbert ~ Bob, when we were new to Charlotte we participated in the Gourmet & Supper Club and it was fun and a great way to meet both new people and long-established Charlotteans. 10 years alter one of the women we met who also moved from New York and I were both in the same named "class" of the 2010 Fifty Most Influential Wommen in Charlotte (by then she'd made quite a splash as a City Councilwoman and a member of the school board). Not bad for two new girls to Charlotte!

Andrew Mooers ~ thanks, Andrew. Having been a newcomer, myself, to Charlotte, as well as to cities like San Francisco, Paris, London, etc. I know how isolated one can feel when you don't know anyone and don't know how to meet new people.
