Today, I received a contact from a non-member. It was a real estate agent in Illinois. She found me through my website but after venturing over there decided to Google my name to see what else she could learn about me. My ActiveRain profile popped up.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in a small town called Carpentersville. I've included that information in my ActiveRain profile. That short history in my profile has gotten me at least two buyers in the last year. This particular agent grew up in Carpentersville and thought it was kismet that we should work together. As it turns out, she is the actual buyer.
She was so impressed that I called her rather than just responding through email. These ActiveRain referrals can be gold, even when they are non-members, so I reached out immediately. She is coming into town on Saturday and is intent on buying that day.
I find that buyers connect with agents for lots of different reasons. This particular buyer was also an agent. She didn't ask me how many sales I've done in the last year or how many years I've been in the business. She was more taken with our shared past history. That little statement in my profile brought me a buyer last year who was relocating from Carpentersville to Franklin. What are the chances?
You never know what will attract a buyer or seller to you; the more detailed your profile the better.
My ActiveRain profile lead to a referral. You gotta love ActiveRain.
